The ABC-benefits of this forum

Forums are about discussions between 3 types of persons...

Person A : expects to gain knowledge (the A-benefit).
Person B : has the knowledge, so he/she wants something else (the B-benefit) in return for providing the A-benefit.
Person C : the scam-artist who wants the B-benefit without providing the A-benefit

Now what's the B-benefit?

I think you all know what the B-benefit is. Yet, the majority of people who expect to get the A-benefit hate to get that benefit from those who want the B-benefit. That's because it is sometimes very difficult to see the difference between person B and person C.

Which brings me to the conclusion of this post...

The only "lazy" way to get rid of Person C is by setting up strict forum- rules (no B-benefits). Yet, as a side effect, Person B, who wants the B-benefit, won't provide the A-benefit, and ... as a result of that... the forum will slowly die.

I sincerely hope that this forum won't make the same mistake. I have many answers to many questions. But I have to admit that I am not Mother Theresa.

Good luck to all of you !

Steve

Neither am I. There was a similar post made by one of the members and you can read my reply:

It is not possible to have a fool proof system. Many people get some useful information from a forum like this. You also come across people who indulge in some mischief. There are people who even post links to porn sites in forums like these. It is a price we have to pay. Nothing in this world is perfect.

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for your reply. As a matter of fact, I didn't expect my post to be accepted. But since you did accept it (thank you), please allow me to ad that I didn't mean any harm. I can see that you have your mind focussed on this forum, which is excellent. I know how hard it is to run a forum... , not too many people realize how hard it is. I hope you can find a way to keep the momentum going.

Take care,

Steve

Thanks Steve for taking my views in a sporting way Forum owners/moderators have very short tempers
