My first question: Are the vitamins synthetic or food based?

Food based usually means high quality. Synthetic means garbage.

Looking at the compensation plan, here are my thoughts.

No fee to join is usually a good thing.

Personally I am not keen on the forced matrix concept. Especially one that pays out a few levels without requiring people to be personally sponsored. Companies with matrix plans typically are not around for very long. Matrix plans, in my opinion, create a welfare mentality where people expect those above to take care of them. Matrix plans typically do not attract the type of people I am am looking for.

150% profit on retail looks good up front. But does this mean that the products are over-priced? (I am always careful when mark-up is over 100%)

Gary has rounded this up so well that I'm sure you would have made your decision by now. If not, just think over it well to be sure you really want to do it.
