Yep, they are a good company but the products cost an awful lot & there is a lot of paperwork. You are responsible for delivering the products to your team & taking care of the money, making sure each person gets paid. The products of the company that I work for are far less expensive, actually save money. The company takes care of the paperwork & writes the checks. We don't even keep inventory, which Shaklee does. We don't have to sell the products that are sitting in our house. We buy online or by a toll free # & the products are mailed out with a set S & H.

Gracia, boy have you been fed the WRONG information regarding Shaklee.

We do not deliver products to our team, nor do we take care of any money, nor do we write checks to our team. Shaklee does it all for us!

We don't keep inventory either! Don't need to since we have our Shaklee websites which we can promote and actually SAY! (Unlike Mela)

I am assuming you are with Mela, since Mela people like to tell others that Shaklee does what you are suggesting. LOL.....we don't do any of it! Shaklee and our sites take care of everything for us!!

You need to contact who gave you that information, I am sure your Mela Upline, and tell that person they are WRONG!

 HappyBrats3,

Very sorry, but my information comes only from the fact that I knew someone in Shaklee yrs ago & that is what they had to do & they had no website. Glad things have changed, this was many many yrs ago. I didn't get the information from anyone else, it came from the experience of those I knew.

I am very glad that Shaklee has changed. That is wonderful news.

Gracia, I think that was probably 15 years ago!! LOL!

Shaklee is completely automated and better than ever. I am a single mom with two kids and I work completely from home, on the computer. No inventory, no check writing, no deliveries...I dropship everything or my Members purchase from their own back office.

Good to see some Members here too!

Gracia check out the link in my sig line to see our sites and all we have.

LOL...well I won't discuss how much, but suffice it to say that I am doing great!

Again, single mom, two kids, I work only Shaklee (no outside job), I make house payment, car payment, and am able to pay all of my bills with plenty left over.

Going on a cruise next month too, AND I got the BIG presidential suite to boot!

 Life is good!

I see that SHAKLEE is a real company with an actual product to sell.
Something that would be done for real at a building on the street, as opposed to an E product or something like that!

MY questions concern what money can be made in a venture, by the novice, at entry level...

 HappyBrats3,
Looked at Shaklees website out of curiosity. Knowing, from experience, I do have a few questions.
The products look great, am wondering does Shaklee manufacture their own? Sorry, but the prices do look a bit steep to me. They don't look like they would be cheaper per use than the grocery store.
What % do you earn from your downline? Do you have to sell a certain amt each month to be paid?
Do you pay for your website?
What is the membership retention rate, in other words, what % of members stay with Shaklee? Are you still with your original upline, or did you have to break off t
 o start your own downline?
What kind of free training do you have available through your team & company?
Just good questions for everyone to ask of any company that they are evaluating. I am sure I missed a few questions that should be asked.

Yes gracia, these are excellent questions that I too would like an answer to.
 Now, let's see what happens.
 (or DOESN'T happen!!)

I use the product now and then, what I like about Shaklee is that you don't have to order every month and lets say you don't order for a few months, you don't lose your downline. Like in Melaleuca.
The prices are a little high, but you have to compare, top of the line products with Shaklee's product. You can't compare the a generic brand because they just won't do the same though they may look the same at first once you read up on the Shaklee products you will see that theirs is far better.

As a business opp, I don't do it, mostly because I've been through the monthly autoshipping programs and don't want to be ordering 100 to 150 dollars of product every month. If you don't order that month you don't get paid that month either, makes sense, I'm not complaining about that. I just don't want to get stuck with products, every person is different, in my case I'm the only one using the product so I don't go through it fast enough to autoship every single month.

I like a business that you pay ONCE and don't have to pay again and again, and "everyone" earns the same income. I found it and I'm sticking with it.
Overall Shaklee has great products, people are making money with it, I know some of the leaders in the company and have been aligned with them for a while. Bottom line is you have to believe in the system and in what your promoting/selling. I personally believe in the products, the comp plan not so much. Hence why I just use the product.

 Best of luck.

I don't see anything wrong with Shaklee's Comp plan, Actually I heard that they have the best compensation plan in the entire industry. With their Gold bonuses, I don't think anyone could top the pay.
I also don't see how someone could have a problem when they are in a business like this for themselves with doing the monthly purchase in order to receive their check. Because if your going to do this as a business, than you should plan on making a lot of money and would cover your products. I don't see how someone could come in as a distributor and not buy a single product, I personally don't like to sponsor someone that does this. How can you go out there and tell others about products if you don't use them or know how great they are. I tell my organization , you don't have to know every detail about the product or what exactly they do for someone, you just have to get to know them. The only way to know them is to switch your stores. If you replace what you normally buy at Wal-mart or Target, with Shaklee instead, than you wouldn't have to stock any products at all. I go through so many products for our own personal use at home, I never have this problem. It's just me , my husband and my 2 year old. Personally I usually use double of what the requirements are to get our check.

But if someone can't do their purchase for that month and know they are not getting a check, it is nice to know you won't get canceled or lose your downline. This is a great company , I think one of the best or they wouldn't be around for 52 years now.

Great products and company... the questions is, are you looking to buy products or make money with the system? I know of people who are successful just like with any other business, however one should expect that it will take a lot of work and time because the commissions are small...

I am writing this because I have noticed many new people to the industry get stuck up on the company or products... they have to be good of course, but it doesn't mean you will make a lot of money..

first, decide what your goals are... if it is working 20 hrs a week and generating a six figure income within your first year, it will be hard with Shaklee... if it is to supplement your income with a couple of hundred a month, it may be a good option.

 I hope this helps, !

Hi, I just wanted to add that shaklee now has global expansion happening!! And if you combine that with the streamline magic system and the car program, it gets even better! I love the shaklee products, I started using them when I saw them in the national media and on everyone's favorite talk show! I was looking for alternatives to the cleaners I was using. Now, I can clean and still breathe! I'll be happy to send someone the websites you get if you want to do online business with shaklee. Thanks

Now after 52 years, there should be some definite stats, as to how many people have tried shaklee as a business, how many dropped out, how many successful, average incomes at different levels etc.

Where might something like this be found?
