I think I need some really good anti-spyware/adware programs. I have good anti-virus already. Anyone recommend something they use that hopefully, they were able to download free of the internet?

Yes! You can get a free 30 day trial to Kapersky anti virus. Just visit Kapersky.com and then click on the "downloads" link at the top of the page. Then click on the "Home User" button under "Free 30-Day Trials", and download the anti virus software from there.

Please note that Kapersky gives you a full system scan that will take about one and a half hours to complete. However, it is very thorough and will catch a bunch of stuff that free programs such as Spybot S&D miss - Kaperski free trial is well worth it and gives you the same kind of functionality that the paid version offers.

I too use Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. It is doing good for me. So you could also give it a try. As getagrip said first try out the trial version. Once you are good to go you could possibly get a original one.

Hi oregoncountry

I am very satisfied with AVG. I've been using it for quite a few years now. It's always been free, and always been #1 for free antivirus and antispyware. It updates daily and I've never had an infection. It's caught quite a few problems over the years. Every time I download something, I scan it with AVG and have never had a problem.

Good luck with it!

Do you think it is better then AVG Free Edition? It takes atleast an hour to run a full scan? I have Adaware on here now. I am hooked up through an ethernet cable to Linksys router and get my wireless through radio waves, which, I never heard of til I moved here. Let me know if you want to know about my puter. I have all the details on it but basically an HP, with plenty of space.

Anyway, thank you for the info. Denise in Sams Valley OR

I use AVG Free edition.
The only thing that I suggest is to make sure you are updated every time you get on the internet. I do this before even checking e-mail

This is a take from there site.

Just park your PC in one of our bays and grab a cup of coffee. Our automated mechanics will put your PC safely through a battery of tests to check its health, configuration and performance. In many cases, if our testing detects a problem you can direct our mechanics to fix it while you're online.

The diagnostics take between one and five minutes depending upon your system and modem speed. You'll be informed along the way on the status of our testing, and at the end you'll get a 'clickable' report on your PC's health and performance. We keep all the information you give us private. See our privacy policy for full details.

Yes it is free what it basicaly does is runa full check of your pc and give you advise on what to improve. If you have them fix it they charge however if your computer savey they show you the steps on how to fix it also for free.

Hope this explaines it better
