I find I get the most done when I schedule things. If I am going to make a you tube video,or send emails,or work on safe lists etc. In the morning I will make a list of what I want to get done and then schedule it in. I find if I do that I don't jump from one thing to another, and get more done

I try to make a list for the day, but sometimes it is hard to keep to it. I am not a very organized person, but I am trying to change that.

I have the same problems as far as organizing my day. That' why I try to get to work right away once I wake up.

I've heard that its better to make the list the night before, that way your subconscious is working on what you have to do while you sleep. Also, instead of crossing things out on your list, write the word "VICTORY" over them. This sends a signal to your brain that you didn't just complete a task, but you've accomplished something that is vital to the overall plan that you have.

Ha! I wish I could do this. I'm usually all over the place throughout the day. One minute I may be post in forums, the next writing an article, the next add friends on MySpace, etc. Lol

While I agree that a To Do List is a practical way to organize your day, I find that most people focus more on the number of things they get done and completely overlook the quality of those things as it relates to their overall goals.

You can kill two birds with one stone by arranging your list activities in descending order of importance. At the top of your list should be the activity you consider to be the most important - the one that'll move you closer to your goal the fastest.

Notice I said most "important", not easiest or urgent.

This approach incorporates the Pareto Principle - the 80/20 rule - which aserts that 20% of your activities will deliver 80% of your results. So, by arranging your list in order of importance, even if you don't get to all the items, hopefully you would have completed the most important 20% and made significant progress.

However, for any list to be effective, you must also be systematic and disciplined in working it.

I do like that idea "Victory". Now that is powerful. I will try that. Thanks

Usually my list is in no particular order. I cross them off as I do them. Oftentimes, I find myself looking at some of the same items on that list at the end of the week.

However, I do make a list when I need to talk with someone on several different topics. This helps me to stay focus on why I called them to begin with and don't waste their time.

Most times I know what I need to do, but lack the motivation some days.
