 Do get get paid for Google ad clicks on your articles? or is the article just for promoting your product or site?

 Lets say, I've written an article and it's accept.
 
 When you go to the article, there are Google Ads all around the article.
 
 The question is, does the person who wrote and submitted the article profit from the Google Ads on the same page if they are clicked or open to get more info about the product or service?

 To rephrase pcwork's answer: It depends upon who owns the site where the adsense was clicked.
