This is a happy day for me! I never would have imagined it would happen but 2 of my lenses are in the Top 100 today. My Guyliner Debate is @ #65 and my Buried Treasure Kids Party Game is @ #88!

Actually, yes! Today was payday and I was happily surprised with my very first payout from Squidoo. I can't wait to see how my earnings grow with all the work I've put into my lenses over the past month.

Thank you! I really had a lot of fun making that one. I don't know how mosquito friendly you are but I just added FREE printable Blood Donor Cards and Gift Certificates for anyone who wants one or needs a really nice gift for someone. That's pretty amazing stuff - how did you manage to target traffic to your lens? I've had mine for over a year but my position is nowhere near the top 100. Any tips greatly appreciated!

That mosquito one is really cool. You did an awesome job with that one.
I got a lot of tips just by looking at yours so am almost ready to roll up my sleeves and get back in

Yipeee!! I just found out that I made the roster for the Giant Squid's this round. I'm very proud to have a shiny new badge on all my lenses.

Honestly, I'm still struggling with getting traffic to my Kids Party Game lens. Google hates it despite my efforts to create backlinks, etc. My Guyliner lens got a lot of traffic from MySpace because it was a hot topic among my group of friends and it ended up getting spread around in bulletins. Once it moved up in the rankings it became a hot topic on Squidoo which helped a lot too. It was mentioned if a few blog posts and featured on Cool Site of the Day.
Every little bit helps. I am still learning SEO and mostly struggling with it, but I have learned to use my url and tags to improve my traffic from search engines.

Yes! It really helped a lot and being picked for Lens of the Day didn't hurt either. It's really hard to stay in the top 100 without quality traffic from other sources other than Squidoo. This is why my lenses only lasted a little over a week in that position. I'm still learning and it's a lot of work.

But being in the top 100 for any length of time is a good accomplishment!

Big congrats on capturing the coveted title of Giant Squid. It represents achievement and dedication. Many lensmasters would like to have it.

Great Lenses! What did you find was key to getting your lenses into the Top 100? I am new at this and just starting to get a handle on it. I have written 3 lenses so far. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

sbaokay: Yes, you get more traffic in the top 100 categories. The top 10 get quite a bit more than the next 90 of 100.
There are two types of top 100 lists - within category and overall. A category might be music, seo & affiliate marketing, business, etc. Overall is tougher to break into and relatively few even get in for a single day. It is in relation to all of the lenses.
bbeard: To get into the top 100, create a useful lens, perform both on-page SEO (helps with organic) and off-page SEO (helps with public awareness). Read this forum to find out more about each.

Hi I had a quick question I have been trying to get pics on my lens with no luck can anyone help me? I signed up with flickr and when i go into edit thr flick module it says processing but nothing appears. any ideas what i am doing wrong?
