Hi, I was wondering how people find there initial generic keywords. What inspires you, how do you come up with it?

I have the resources and tools to analyse the competition of a keyword or et of keywords, but I have no clue on how I come up with initial idea of keywords. I do look into amazon categories and things like that, but I still find it so hard! Any ideas?

Coming up with the root keyword can take time and just exploration on your part.

The keyword will have to make sense for you product or niche. See where your competition is.

You have to get into the heads of your customers/prospects. Thats really the only way to get the starting point. From there you can use keyword tools to expand on your intial idea.

I use google adwords keyword tool. It's simple and works great for me. You would just enter the product title in the search bar and then it will give you ideas for keywords. It is best to use a keyword or two that has a great number of hits (at least 1,000 per month). It is also important to note the competition level, it is best to find a keyword with minimal competition. I hope this helps.
