I think many have problems deciding on a subject/niche market.
I know I did..I wanted something I was interested in, passionate about and of quality.
I pondered this for quite a while, only to discover it was right in front of me every day.
So, deciding on a market.audience and possibly research.

I would say if I was a newbie I would want to learn about keyword research, and niche marketing. Those I consider most important

Benefits and downsides of online business and offline business
Which program/services to use: shopping cart, web hosting, SSL certificates, etc.
Marketing strategies: PPC, SEO, sign ups (if needed), auto-responders, etc.
All the vocabulary used online.
