So I'm really excited to start making video files to supplement my article-a-day marketing extravaganza lol

I'm not sure what type of program I'm looking for - That's why I came to you guys!

Is there a ((free)) program you can use to create slideshow type videos? I've heard this is an excellent way to dominate a niche alongside articles/blogs/etc.

I don't have a webcam or anything.... just looking to make something fun and informative to drop on youtube or whatever is most effective.

Lots to learn perhaps... Thanks in advance!

There are hordes of free programs out there for making slideshow videos. You can go to Cnet.com and click on downloads then search for video editing programs...most are free to try a few times and see what you like the best.

I personally use Windows Movie Maker as it is really easy to use and has some pretty good features... easy to ad audio and add text overlays, etc.

If you need some guidance just PM me and I'll give you a hand.

I am assuming you intend to create the slides in powerpoint or something similar? If so, all you need is some sort of screen capture software. Camtasia is great for that and there is a version that is free to download.

 Here's brothersoft's link: http://www.brothersoft.com/camtasia-studio-download-51992.html

Just search "camtasia download" in google and there are other download locations listed as well.

If you have a newer digital camera there is usually a video option on it. You could make some short videos with it for youtube. I have even seen some people use their cell phones with video capture and send those to youtube.

I'll let you know how my journey goes for sure and see what works best fore me.

Anyone else feel free to add what works best for you - I'm sure many of you are involved/eager to learn this.

For those of you who use this video/slides as a marketing strategy, how do they rank compared to articles/blogs, etc. ??

Thanks again, can't wait to get started!

 Hi Lars,

YouTube is owned by Google. It's a PR9. As a result, it packs one of the very meanest punches on the net to date.

 Get on it! :)

 Lars,

Good luck with the video project. Video is a great way to get the message across. The ideas for software that the other members have been giving you is great. I would also suggest going to

and checking out some of the features there. You can make some cool movies with the options they have. Good luck and keep us posted. Im always looking for other business owners to brainstorm with and exchange some ideas so im glad for a forum like this and threads like this.
