In my inbox this morning I had a bum marketing email that said it was ok to take the exact already approved article from ezine and submit it to article base. I was under the impression that the exact article should not be submitted to two directories. Thoughts on this please.

Hi Robin,

That depends:

If you want folks to find your articles by using the article site search, then it would work fine.

If you are concerned about the duplicate content issue, then don't do it.

The Google Algo usually catches and flags duplicate content. It doesn't always work and even when it does work, it may not get flagged right away.

However, as I've mentioned, it is within the algo. In other words, Google would rather not list duplicate content in the SERPs.

It's your call.

I have also heard that Google prefers unique content.

If I were you, I'd change your article somewhat just to be sure you're not penalized by Google for duplicate content.

Rewriting an article can be fairly simple. If you restate the same idea using different words, change the order of the paragraphs as long as it makes sense, or inset a new paragraph for additional info, would add to your article being unique. However, be certain that it still makes sense, and still provides the same helpful info.

Hope this helps you a bit.

You can really duplicate an article as long as it is your own article but the issue to consider is the Google algo. I will suggest you twist your articles a bit for different site submission.Got what i mean? There is an article directory http://site-reference.com that recently introduce what they termed exclusive author benefits.By exclusive, what they actually mean is for an article writer to submit an original article to their site alone and not to submit same article to any other place on the web for at-least 7 days from submission date. One of the benefits they give for giving this one week exclusive right is that you will earn from all the Google adsense that will go with same article. And of-course,the article will get more prominence than others in their pack.I think this good, though i have not had time to try them out but it will pay you in two ways, you get your article loved by Google algo [because its in one site alone],then you still earn some adsense revenue. Needless to say that you have to target the kind of adsense you will attract with your keywords. Its a win-win situation.I am going to try them out in few days and will tell you how good or not they are.

I don't recommend you submitting the same content to different article sites. I have done it in the past and always paid the price on google. Its just not worth it to me, but I was always looking to have my articles rank in the search engines. Good Luck

Scott
