hello,

I was wondering how long does it usually take to make sales online. I have had over 100 people to read my articles within 2 weeks of them being live, and over 200 people to look at my ads on usfreeads.com and I just don't know why no one is buying anything. Any suggestions?

There are so many variables in play...

Where is the article posted? On most article sites only a small % that read your article will continue to your website.

Of the 200 who read your ad how many went to your website?

Are you sending them to a specific sales page or a general website?

Do you have an opt-in offer to collect their info to build a list to market to?

Hi LaNita,

Bob's right - there are many variables involved.

One variable is your writing in your article. Another is the writing on your site. If your visitors don't go straight to your sales page, then an additional variable is them finding their way there.

How presentable is your site. How intuitive is the navigation? How fast does the page load? Are the colors compatible and palatable?

There are other factors as well.

So, it's really impossible to say how many article readers it will take to make a sale.

You will maximize your conversions if you make every aspect of your campaign a high quality endeavor.

Take your time on each detail.

What exactly is it that you're promoting? You have to realize that your products really can't be too popular because there is just too much competition out there! Another thing you might try is adding free bonuses with your link. Others maybe selling the same thing but you can make it so if they buy from you, you can throw in some extras for free. There are programs out there you can google "resale rights" there are countless ebooks you can get your hands on. That may help you with your conversion rate!!!!!

You might want to make sure that your opt-in has a free give-away for signing up that is truly valuable or useful to them.

Yeah the guys are right - in order to give feedback, a little bit more information is needed.
There are so many things the could be wrong and could even be something so easy to fix.
(sorry but right now its like asking a blind man if he likes the color of your dress .... )

Very good Ziggy!

So true.

There are so many things - among them is the fact that you may be in a hard niche.... if you are in the weight loss or work at home niche, it will be harder to make sales, as there are gazillions of others marketing that stuff...

You may be in something totally different but just thought I'd throw that at ya.

Mountainmom stop throwing things!!!

But why don't you try the split marketing test. Try another style of advertising or marketing and see if you get any results. Sometimes we tend to keep punting the same thing but it may need a bit of a makeover.

Until you are established you may need to try out different ways of putting your method across. e.g. did you know that when coke first came out it was green!!!!

But look at it today .... see ... its all in the marketing and the feedback from your marketing.

can you believe that about coke hey .... gosh i am showing my age! but yeah when they first brought it out way way way back then it was green! It wasn't selling so they changed the ingredient in it which changed the color and voila ... the rest is history.

marketing ... eish there's a topic that one can debate about all night long if the drinks are fresh

It was ok that coke was green back then because you would be too high to care.

Yep, the original formula contained cocaine - thus the name Coca-Cola.

The original recipe was first concocted in a drug store under the label of cocawine and the original intent was to dispense it as a medicine.

Today the coca leaf is still used but it is free of all traces of cocaine.

hahahah - aren't we all just full of useless information

About 25odd years ago (aagghhh showing my age) I went to a bottling plant to see how they bottled coke. It was one of those 2lt plastic bottles and inside was a rat! Put me off coke for a good few years I tell ya .... well until i was introduced to bicardi and coke

I would say since you've only been at it for 2 weeks, that patience is important in addition to improving and promoting. Like anything else, internet marketing takes a long time before you'll see any results.

And you also have to take into consideration that you've only had 100 visitors so far and you don't know how many of those were targeted visitors.

By the way, is free classified ads the only method you've tried? Because, IMO, that's one of the least effective methods since it's not targeted and it doesn't help with backlinks.

Something must be amiss somewhere from the way I see it. Probably the content of your articles were not persuasive or completely captivating to make them want to make a further move than just reading.
