Hi Shantrice,
Well, when you put it like that, you can't. You have to do more than just sit at home on your computer - lot's of people do that.
It's how you use that computer time that makes all the difference.
The affiliate marketing that MM5 mentioned is a very popular way to start learning how to earn money by using your computer.
I started with SBI's Free Affiliate Master's Course. I just downloaded it, printed it out, and read it. I learned SO much and it gave me an understanding of the very question you are asking.
That's where I recommend that new people start. It helps to reduce the amount of confusion that you can get by trying to piece together information from many varied sources.
