I just want to alert members about two new phishing schemes, at least new to me.
One states that it is from your PayPal account, that your account has been limited and you must access to verify your account. It asks for all sorts of personal information. Information that you were never asked when you opened your account. Do not click on the click inside this email. It is not from PayPal.
The second one claims to be from the FBI and endorses some lottery drawing, claiming to have verified this lottery and it is okay to claim the winnings. I'm pretty sure, the FBI and Homeland Security does not use a yahoo address like this one does.
Just wanted to warn you.

I have heard about the FBI lotto thing but I new it was fake...Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, this phishing scams are always out there.
To be safe, one must NEVER click on any link on any email when dealing with financial information or sensitive personal information. Don't use phone numbers listed in these emails either because they can also be false.
If you really think there is a problem, you KNOW the number of your financial institution and if it is Paypal - go direct to their site by typing it in your browser.
And beware of all phone calls. If anyone calls you for information, hang up. Always verify by calling the bank or other institution yourself. Banks and credit cards will NEVER ask you for your PIN so don't give it to anyone....EVER.

I have come across both and immediately thought to myself they were schemes looking to steal my personal info.

Any email that asks you for personal information is probably bogus. If there is any doubt, contact the website or organization they claim to be from and ask about it. They'll generally tell you it's fake.
