Hi everyone.

I am looking for an opportunity to earn a few extra dollars a month to start and build from there. I have been reading forum for a while and ready to get started but not sure where to begin.

The internet is a new frontier of opportunities but also a lot of scams. I am looking for something legit and would like to learn the ropes from someone.

I have dabbled unsuccessfully in MLM in the past and probably not going there again unless someone has a working, proven plan and above average products.

Afilliate marketing sounds good but sure seems like it would take a long time to make any money.

I appreciate replies to my post and I will continue to do research on the forum.

Thanks
Mark

I'm still learning myself. I'm working hard on affiliate marketing and My Instant Biz. So far My Instant Biz is the only one that seems to be working for me.

If you're new to affiliate marketing, I would like to suggest My Online Income System (MOIS). It's an excellent tool for beginner affiliate marketers, walks you step by step through affiliate marketing, how to promote and where. It has some excellent reviews here in the forum, haven't heard a bad thing about it. I joined about a month and a half ago. The cost wasn't too bad, $17 one time fee. I've seen an increase in my adsense revenue if nothing else. The only downside is article marketing and that's if you don't like to write articles but other than that, it's a pretty good program.

talliniowa1961,
I suggest you rethink your approach to the idea of working from home. MLM and affiliate marketing requires money investment and special computer skills like SEO, coding, marketing, site managing, web-mastering and so on...
You can learn all these but it will take a long, long time until you will see some profit from it.

I use a different approach, I take online paid surveys. Skills you need to do so...absolutely none! My technique is to register to as much paid survey companies, make a list and eliminate those that look like scams and don't pay you.
Never register to paid surveys list, never pay to get hired.

I make this way $500 each month and squeeze the survey companies for that amount each month.

Regardless what route you go... affiliate marketing - surveys - mlm - network marketing... it all takes work and deditcation.

I have tried most of the above and my experience was:

mlm - it works but I didn't like the fact of trying to recruit people all the time

surveys - all I ever got was a headache and sobbing spell (and I am NOT the sobbing kind....)

affiliate marketing - lots of effort and work pays off... I don't mind writing so building blogs, writing articles, Squidoo lenses and adding content to my sites are fun

affiliate marketing with local vendors - marketing their products for commissions on Ebay, Craigslist etc... (I have done fairly well at this )

All of the above ( except for doing surveys) take a certain amount of internet marketing skills so that is still where your learning curve will be at and that is where programs like MOIS, 30 day challenge, Bum Marketing, OWM, Pl etc come in...

Hope that helps!

mountainmom5 is right,
all except surveys requires some kind of skill or knowledge. You may have to invest some money or time in those MLM, affiliating and others mentioned.

Although I don't have
mountainmom5:
headache and sobbing spell

while taking paid surveys, I would recommend to start with them first and acquire the skills for other ways also.

Bum marketing is a great place to start as well as a good education on what it takes to make money online. All it costs you with bum marketing is your time. No matter what direction you do plan to go, you are going to have to be focused and dedicated. If you treat it like a hobby, thats all it is going to be. If you treat it like a job, then your chances of success are much higher.

...and if you are made your mind about one of the above directions, try to focus on it but do not eliminate other oportunities, they are out there waiting for you.
