I'm deeply interested in what everyone has to say -- the cautious, the cynical and the believers.
I look at many of the tings offered by email if I'm familiar with the sender's name (though you ought to check the email "properties" to see whether there's another email address behind it this name).
I have just been looking at an ad for an online thing called "Health Biz in a Box". It does look impressive, and includes plenty of informatin about the product. You get your own online shop in this.
Does anyone know about this? Any opinions?
Thanks a ton,
Moonraker

kjsand01: I try to stay away from scams with big targeted ads that cost money and while I don't mind paying for marketing materials I use those that have a money back guarantee. Great advice! A money back guarantee is VERY important. Be careful of someone charging you up front then charging ongoing monthly fees without any money back guarantee. If they don't offer you a money back guarantee then they are not backing up their product. Do your research online on any product you are looking to purchase. Research is key in any purchase

Vishal,
I truly agree with you and based on my observation for couple of years, most of the websites on the internet are scams and not really helpful to earn a dime.
I always have a dream of having a website posted with all the spamming websites information for others but that may not really serve any purpose as people still keep attracting by the way the scams create marketing strategies.
How one can stop the scams on this earth ?
Hope for a better world tomorrow.

Yes, I agree. In my case,
I have had been robbed by internet money making products a year
ago so many times..... Right now, with those educated bad
experiences, I final found right one, I think Only one money making
product. Even they don't make you rich and give you money so on..
they are giving you guide line to make at least couple sales
through clickbank products.. Yes Affiliate marketing!!
But you have to be careful, when you buy products. many I think
almost every site will tell you "quick money making"
I would say, It is possible, but always possible.. Most people
fall in to their products after read through their incredible results
showing on websits. What they have said are, the best result you
will get with products, not everyone... just keep it in mind
For my only Affiliate marketing, MOIS it is good. that' all I can say.
Hope this will help you guys
Happy day~

Jaesun16,
Money back guarantee is important in deciding the right online money making program...but to me they all depend on how much effort you put into marketing. So in the final analysis if you can market your product, no matter what it is, you will be able to produce income.
Hoping to get rich soon!

So is it actually possible to find a work-at-home website that isn't a scam? It seems like there are so many horror stories about scams, and I'm sure that a lot of people abuse the work-at-home idea, but has anyone ever heard any good news about them?

While the word 'scam' isn't perhaps justified, there is no denying that there are various tricks (and underhand tactics?) used in persuading people to buy products that involve membership subscriptions.
One of the latest trends appears to be a 'free give-away' of the first X-thousand products and all you have to pay is shipping - and they'll also throw in a free copy of a subscription magazine which you'll subsequently have to pay $40 a month for.
So they make their money on the magazine as well as various affiliate links associated with their 'free' product they give away.
It always pays to read the small print - and sometimes you only see that when you're on the paypal page!
Before you get your credit card out, check your bill doesn't say 'monthly' in small letters beside the price...
Unless you're willing to pay monthly, of course!

Yes, there is a lot of abuse. That's why it's really important to check into things beyond reading the sales pages. Ask around in forums like this one to find out who has used the program or system and if they have had some measure of success.
Do you have any idea at all of what you may be interested in doing? Have you already done some reading and research? There are some free ebooks and resources you can read to help you get an idea of options and an idea of the concepts behind earning an income online.
Once you've read up a bit, you can then ask specific questions to people here in the forum if you like and we will be better able to help you.
Blessings, Angie

This is a quote from another site. The information is certainly somthing to consider before joining a work at home internet program:
No product or service. What is the company selling? If the only product is a chance to make money, you've probably stumbled onto a pyramid scheme. In order for any referral marketing organization to make money, someone on the outside must pay money to the organization. If the only people paying are joining the organization, than no income is being generated. The members are just passing money around between themselves with everyone hoping to be holding the bag of money when the music stops. Above and beyond this fundamental flaw in the business model, pyramid schemes are also illegal in the United States.
Yes these schemes are illegal, but it is almost impossible to stop them.

99% of all these programs are a total scam, and the FIRST RED FLAG is that they charge you money to do a job from home.... and most of them lack a 1 on 1 guidance should we really want to start a home business...and surveys are a real waste of time...u have to have incredible patience to fill out gazillion forms for such little money!!!

There are some that are legitimate and that actually teach you how to become an internet marketer. I have been very successful with a couple of them. I have been lucky not to have been scammed. They are definately out there. Just be careful!
Best of luck to all!

I'm New at the work at home stuff. I started a few websites. has anyone heard of the people search affiliate. I joined them last week and wondering if anyone else has had any experience with them? I have made a few dollars already from referrals. The link is in my signature. But I am not sure how good it will be long term.

One of the best ways to avoid making money online scams is by google searching all of the online sellers out there. There are 400+ and most are scams. Read Read READ!!!! Make sure there is a money back guarantee!!! Also make sure you can contact customer service. If no contact information dont buy.

Well Dubli "auctions" may or may not be a scam for people working the system but for customers it's an out-and-out scam. Or perhaps a new form of gambling.
Dubli receives 80c for each 25c shaved off the price? so the best possible outcome for Dubli is when the item sells for free but curious non-customers have between them shelled out in "view price" fees over 3 times the original asking price.
Complete scam.

Cash gifting is illegal. Does not matter what spin they put on it....they are illegal. And all these cyclers/matrixes who have no product or a product of no real value are scams. Most if not all the surf sites with their high yields are scams. Anything that is going to pay you 1% per day or more is a scam. Very rarely can a person make a return of 30% plus per month on a consistent basis. Scams abound and as long as people keep paying into them, they will continue to exist.
What I find repugnant is that people...knowing these are scams and are ponzi's think that it is ok to get in and make some profit and get out.....and too bad for the hapless person who lost their money.

There are a lot of scams out there that's for sure. But a lot of people call something a scam when they buy a program, don't work the program and don't understand why they don't make money. If you put in no effort then the result will be zero that doesn't make it a scam. I've also almost fallen for the programs that offer mentoring but the cost of the mentoring is based on how much you can put on your credit card. Now not really a scam because they do offer a product/service but typically what they offer you can find on your own for a lot less if you do your research.

I don't know if this is a scam, nevertheless I found this program very missleading because you cannot see from the program title, and most importantly not from the sales copy what the program is about. I'm talking about ecurrency arbitrage that is an affiliate program. A guy named Paul Jenkins teaches you how to use Adwords, and PPC, and make a few dollars here and there from affiliate companies. Because it is missleading, there is a high return rate because people expect something completely different.

Adon: Beware when a business opportunity is trying to entice you into buying NOW by saying something like "...this product will only be available for $29.97 until March 31, then the price will go back up to $58.97.." This is a red flag! I've seen several websites like this and the only thing that changes is the date! One time I got duped by this trick and saw that the deadline date had already passed. I contacted the scam artist and asked him to please make an exception for me as I was sending in my payment today. Of course, the crook agreed and the next day he had extended the deadline date on the site. The crook is not going to reject you buying the product at the "hook price". This is the intention all along and the "you better hurry up and get in on this opportunity now at this price" tactic always works on people who are taken in by the "business opportunity" by making them think they have to rush to purchase it. He got me! It works the same way in retail establishments when they put things on sale for a limited time. But at least you know if you rush to Walmart and buy it before it goes off sale, you've got the product you wanted. It doesn't feel good when you've bought into a supposed web based business opportunity thinking like this....and it turns out to be a scam! Been there done that! If you see this tactic being used on a business opportunity website, take my advice and click that X in the upper right hand corner of the window. Adon These aren't necessarily scams. These are marketing tactics that a lot of marketers use. The say buy now at xxx price before this date when the price will go up to xxx to get you to buy! Not because they're trying to scam you but to get you to buy their product so they can make money!
Now depending on what they are selling, it could be a scam, but just because you see someone using this tactic does not automatically mean they are trying to scam you. I know of quite a few legitimate and well-known online marketers that use this same tactic to sell their product.

more signs of these scams
1. Check if the worth of your payment comes on recruitng other people. Now you got yourself some pyramiding thing going on there. 2. Of course a scam will try to call itself a job. But if it asks you to pay up for some additional info, nope, you'll be better off away from this undertaking. 3. Bubbles and crashes come when promises of fortune are fast and too easy. Nothing comes out of nothing - and that goes as well for money. So if it's too good to be true, it is.

Hey guys,
A lot of very good tips here. I would like to add the following:
1. Money back guarantees are good - but just because they say they offer them doesn't mean they will be true to their word - thieves aren't necessarily honest! That's why researching these 'money making products' is imperative - talk to people, visit forums, google the product name etc.
2. Product reviews are not always what they seem to be. And the same goes for forum posts. So just because they say something is really good - even after they've claimed it was a scam to get your interest - doesn't mean it is. See if you can contact these people and ask them questions to show they really do know the product they're promoting.
3. Negative product reviews - how often do they turn around at the end of the damning 'scam' report on a product, only to recommend another one (perhaps a little more expensive...). There could be a hidden agenda behind a negative review.
These are just some points to bear in mind. Generally speaking, there are good products out there to get you started or give you some fresh ideas.
And to avoid getting flooded with information, I'd recommend sticking to one or two until you've learnt all you can from them. With too many on the go, you end up going round in circles - at least I did!
Good luck guys - and avoid those scams!

As an attorney, there are certain things that I look for in any scam. First and foremost, is there a real entity behind the company. In other words is there some link to a real physical address and person. Second, how long has the entity been in business for. The longer something exists the more likely it is to be legitimate. Third, what is the record of complaints against the entity via any and all avenues. Fourth, what is the relationship between the entity and the product sold. Fifth, has there been name changes of the company (suggests fraud and complaints in the past.)

Almost every product that promises money is a scam that wants your money. I learned that the hard way but now i found a business working for me and everyone has posted great information to look out for scams. Money can only be made through hard work and dedication, unless you win the lotto

There are ways to make money online that do not cost you ANYTHING to start. You just need to be willing to invest your time to look for them and to take action when you find them. This game really comes down to who wants it most and is willing to make it happen.

The most obvious scam of all are those who try to hide their real identify so as not to get discovered by the authorities. So do avoid doing any business with someone who does not provide an address and telephone number. It's highly risky business to be working with someone who offers only his email address.
