Im looking into getting into an affiliate program, and I was considering using some of these mass emailing services. I come accross sites claiming they can supply me with 12 million email addresses for $200, and im wondering if they are legit. Has anybody ever tried this type of marketing and what kind of return have you gotten if you have?

Mass mailing usually works only for double optin mailing lists, otherwise it is not very effective

i hate to sound like a complete idiot i tried googling it so i wouldnt have to ask but what are double option mailing list?
