Hi My name is Shannon. I am a newie to the working at home. I keep writing and submitting articles to ezine articles only to have them rejected. Any advice you all could give me to write better articles? I would like to eventually quit my job by building this business. Any tips from anyone? It would be really appreciated!
Thank you!

Instead of submitting only to ezinearticles, submit to other places. They are not as fussy and many offer revenue share.

Hi Shanon,

Have you thought about using your writing to skills to build your own website? In that way, every article you write is a new page on your own site that continues to grow and mature.

If you build it correctly, you will eventually rank well in the search engines and bring in free targeted traffic from the search engines. You won't be dependent upon article directories or other sources. You can still use them to your advantage, but you will be building your own business instead of theirs.

Just a suggestion for you to consider. It's not as hard as you may think.

Blessings,
Angie

Hi Shannon - and welcome to the forum , by the way.

Why are your articles being rejected? Usually it is a simple thing that they are asking you to change and then you will be okay - feel free to shoot me a pm on it or just respond here and I'll see if I can help you.

Also if you put around your website link in your signature it will make it clickable so others can click on it... we are all a tad lazy on here when it comes to copying and pasting...

Shannon,

Which directories are you submitting to?

Did they say why they are rejecting you?

It could be many reasons. Are you carefully following the required format, is it unique content, is it really an article, or did you use affiliate links in the article?

We'll need to know some specifics.

Perhaps your article didn't meet the minimum requirements. But the directories owners will identify the mistakes and just correct them. Your article will be accepted.

Don't be disheartened. Carry on your hard work

Here's a cheeky idea.....why not start your OWN article directory?

I'm sure there are plenty of guys in Sitepoint and Elance who could take care of the technicalities..... (Not sure how much this would cost, though, but it might be a good long-term investment?)

Sorry, I'm just spouting random thoughts right now, lol...

Have someone write the articles for you.

The best thing I've ever done as far as writing is concerned is take online writing classes. I took several because I knew my grammar skills, punctuation, structure and other areas needed help. I'm not perfect now, but am much better than I was. The classes gave me the courage to write when I thought I could never write good enough to get published. My first publication came 6 months later in a print magazine then I decided to submit online articles and so far only one was rejected because I had the title in my url so I changed my title and then it was accepted, an EA rule. Don't give up keep trying.

Read the terms of service for the article directory site. I also recommend that that you submit to as many article directories as you can.

Hi there,

I have been running my own business online for 6 months now and am earning such good money i have given up my full time job in financial services. I came across a company on the internet and was sceptical at first. Having researched them i eventually made the initial phonecall and have never looked back. Like you, i was totally new to this and receive excellent training 2-3 times a week over the phone. I had never done an article in my life but now i do 3 a week and have never had any rejected due to the excellent training.
