If you are not seeing any sales and are just now catching on to what a call to action is then you need to step back and think about things. So you have traffic to your site one goal achieved but before I worry about getting traffic and ranking I put on my "sales" hat and build the best site I can for conversions (remember you are here to sale items not just get traffic to a site). So build multiple landing pages, set up tracking, monitor conversions, tweak landing pages... There are some very good books out there as well, go to Amazon and do a search for "Cashvertising". Read this book, heck read it twice... I did.

The best keyword research tool I ever invested in was Micro Niche Finder. It literally does all the work for you, even evaluates the "conversionability" if that's a word, of your keyword, by giving you an estmated "Online Commercial Intent" or a number that assesses how likely searchers are to be looking to purchase a product. I never start a campaign without it.

If you are getting the traffic then my guess would be that something is wrong with your sales page.

Hi, I took a look at your lens and I think the issue is probably that people are getting more savvy online and don't like to feel they are being sold.
Pre-selling is key. I would suggest maybe thinking about doing a review of the two products rather than having arrows to the links. To some, it will be an obvious attempt to get someone to buy something and unfortunately many people don't like that.
A review will build some trust and maybe get them to make a choice between the books based on which one they think will suit them best.
There is a collection of some absolutely fab free resources to try out and loads of great free ebooks - the link is the last one in my signature if you want to take a look.
Two that are particuarly good are "making your content pre-sell" (the top link on the left of the block of free ebooks) and make your words sell - next to it.
Actually, all the books are worth a look.... imho and they are free!
I'm actually going through my sites and implementing some of the tips. They make a lot of sense and it is changing the way I write for the net.
Hope this helps!!

Try to check on your content. In the end, what counts most is the content. Visitors will stay long or even comes back and forth if you have fresh, interesting content. Remember, content is king.

Hi mountainmom5, lol, you made me smile, I opened up this forum today and there was my old post sitting there on top thanks to you. It was a reminder of how far I have actually come and its not just about the money, I am still not rich, lol. Its everything else that has come into my life as a result of this road that I chose to follow. The people I have met and the freindships I have formed on line. I am actually meeting 8 wonderful woman face to face in October that I met and bonded with on a forum. I am a moderator on 2 forums and now write for other's websites as well. Got a new business started consulting in my niche. Goes to show what happens when you choose to follow something that you are passionate about, regardless of the competetion. So watch out, one day you may see my hair flying on the Oprah show!

One of the best ways of making sales is, creating curiosity instead of trying to upsell the product. Articles are commonly read by people to gather information. Not for shopping.
Just talk about the product as a third party and don't exceed 500 words. Keep it short and to the point. Talk about the bits of the product but do not tell them everything.
Finally, under your bio box suggest them to get more information if they wish to and put your link.

To add a little to what has already been said: Your keyword may rank well in Google but is it a "buying" keyword. you want to make sure that what you are attempting to rank for are buying keywords. There are two types of viewers on the internet. Those looking for information and those looking for products to purchase. If you target the buying crowd then that is half your work complete. The other half as was mentioned earlier is the effectiveness of your site design. Does your site have a call to action is it well designed etc etc.
Also please note that if your ezine article is number one in google it doesnt mean anything for your site per say. Log in to your ezine article back office and look at how successfully your articles are at obtaining click thru for your your site. If your click thru rate is low then it doesnt matter that your ezine article is first on google. I average a 13% click thru rate on ezine which is not great but not that bad either.

Building more backlinks to your lens can let it stay there for a long time. Be sure to do all the steps on making a good sales page. Maybe this is what keeps your customers from buying from you. Do anything to let them stick on your lens and click that affiliate link.

I have always been confused by using the keyword tool. Every keyword that looks like it has a lot of searches also has tons of competition. Unless you're promoting something that is practically brand new, all your possible keywords will have tons of competition. And the brand new products probably don't have any searches anyway. It's very frustrating.

When I am looking for competition in Google (after using the Keyword Tool) I use the "allintitle:keyword phrase" to search for competition that is targeting that key word. You really can narrow down who your competition really is. I consider a good keyword as having at least 3000 monthly searches and half that in competition. Much easier to do in the micro niches.

Maybe your target keyword is not demanding. Why do some other process to gain your traffic. You can try SMO.

I think your article is not that catchy. Try to make it more informative and help readers on what they are looking for but don't overdo it.
