I was just wondering if anyone uses craigslist to advertise??
If so, do you get any sales or referrals?
I have tried posting in the small biz ads- but no luck. Also got flagged a couple times.
Is there another section I should post in?
Thanks!

Personally I don't, and I don't know if you are allowed to. I think its a little annoying when affiliate marketers invade Craigslist, especially when its for paid surveys and that kind of a thing...

Hi Dayec,
The one time I tried it out of curiosity and was careful about using the proper section and method, I got flagged anyhow. I haven't bothered since.
Classifieds are already full of make money online offers. You'd have to first get past getting flagged and then really stand out to have a chance at getting traffic.
Perhaps someone will be along to help you out.

I have an account and occasionally post in the small biz ads section. It gets me traffic (really only a handful of hits everyday) from the minimal amount of ads that I can post. They only usually allow one or two a day.
I've never gotten flagged this way.

I don't use craigslist ever since they changed everything up. I use BackPage a little bit.

I use craigslist a lot. I actually have 300 ads per day posted for a couple different products. So, I've got anywhere from 600 - 900 ads per day. It's not easy to get your ads to stick up there, but if you're careful and know what you're doing, you can do it. In order to be effective on craigslist, you really need to post lots of ads because the reality is that you will get flagged and some ads will get taken down. You have to use a company who specializes in this kind of stuff, because it's too hard to make the ads stick for you. If anyone's interested, PM me and I can give you the email address of the guys I use to post my ads. They'll charge anywhere from $.50 - $.80 per post, but it's well worth it. They have a daily post minimum of 200 ads per day.

I posted a few adds a couple of months ago, and they got past the flags, but I found that I was mostly getting responses from peopel that were trying to sell me their own opprotunity. It was really annoying, so I don't post there anymore.

200 post ad at $0.80? That's not very duplicate able for network marketers or even newbie IM. I'm sure it brings in a lot of leads though...how qualified do you find them?

A few months ago there was a point where I was getting over 200 leads a day from Craigslist alone posting in Sales and Real Estate section. This website has sooooo much traffic.
But Craigslist is slick and there main goal is to keep internet marketers off it. So now I don't even bother with it because it's too much of a headache. A lot of people I know still work around Craigslist and pump leads out of it.

You can't advertise in the small biz ad's unless you have an account, then you have to get authenticated by phone - has anyone have any idea how to do this if you do not live in USA

I too use kijiji! Seem to get about 15-40 page views a day! Not bad for being targeted FREE traffic!

I use CL from time to time and do get a decent response. I typically post about 3-4 ads every 4-5 days. The key to getting multiple posts is to change up heading and body of your ad. They don't like the same ad being posted numerous times.

As NS, said classifieds are already jam packed with affiliate links and money making websites. So users get annoyed and will never get referrals. Even if you get you may get some lazy one who diminishes as time passes away.
I advise you to advertise your link where people have not seen it and still they are targeted. You need to sit down and work out the areas. This is where the challenge is.

lol, i find it funny everyone says if they do or do not use it.. if you do use it whats your success..
I also use it and am very successful with it, however you either have to hire someone to make your ads stick or you need to study how to keep your ads up. Once you figure it out though its well worth having your ads up.
But craigslist isn't the only classified site to use.

I haven' used it.
But, as far as I know, referring people is as hard as making sale on
internet.
My recommendation for getting referrals, keep your ads on your
new target market.
You will be better than this.
Happy day~^^

I got flagged when I tried to post ads there as well. It's a lot easier and takes less time to post in many other areas, so I don't waste time with Craigslist.
If you figure out how to make it work, let us know!

I have used Craigslist with some very good results. It seems to be most effective for those selling a product or service locally as opposed to MLM or "online money making opps". Yes, their posting restrictions can be a bit of a pain but a few modifications to your ad can just about eliminate this issue.

Craigslist works well, but they don't like "work at home" job postings.
You can't put "work at home in your add". It is a better idea to put "telecommute" there or It will get flagged.

A long time ago posting on Craigslist with an affiliate link was a good deal, but that's been seriously abused today.
I don't advocate advertising via classified ads because of how much spamming is going on, but without fail, the junk material that comes from ebooks seem to still peddle this technique.
It may produce a few results for selling physical products, but not "work at home" or "home business" related topics.
I'd skip it and use more effective forms of gathering traffic such as ezine articles, social bookmarking, etc.

I have used Craigslist and did get some good initial response. However, no one signed up. Stick to places where you can find like minded people. People who are already looking for what you have.

I used to use CL also, but since they require a phone number to each email address that you use, it's almost not worth it. Backpage seems to be more friendly for posters, even notifying you when your ads expire.
Also a new site call Phinditt is working well for me. It's similar to BP, but they let you post into 3 cities at a time. And that really saves time. Anyone tried that BPposter? I bought it, but have yet to get it to work. Can't figure that one out.

I use Craigslist but don't get so hung up on it. There are plenty of other Classified sites they you can get a TON of free traffic from and get plenty of referrals.
Some of the top ones are: -BackPage -USFreeAds -MySpace Classifieds -Kijiji -Oodle
Hope this helps
