Hi
I am planning to host a website and sell ebooks. I want to create a marketing video. In this video I would like to show my users the following actions:
1) Me Logging into my paypal account.
2) Showing them my balance (Masking some areas)
3) I would like to add my voice on the background so that I explain as I show them my work.
How would I do this. What software to use. A lot of questions pop up my mind. Please help me.

You can get a 30 day free trial of Camtasia, which is screen capture software. I'm not sure how you will be able to mask certain portions of the video, but I'm sure there is a way to do it somehow.

There is also another way to do so.
Using Print Screen button on your keyboard (Prt Scr) you can capture a still image of your screen, then open the Power Point and insert it into a slide show. You can take multiple images and make slides of every step (logging into the PayPal and capturing every screen of this process, for example). Power Point has enough editing features to hide whatever you want, apply some sort of a pointer, markers, labels, mask certain portions and whatever else you want.
Then save your slide show in a JPEG format - it will give you a folder with each slide saved as a separate picture.
Now go to the Movie Maker, or whatever software you have in your computer (normally Movie Maker is already installed) and export your slide-show in there.
Now all you have to do is assemble your slides into a movie, record a voice-over and you got yourself a nice instructional video.

But this will not be that much powerful. If we show some real time activities it would be better.
I have seen them recently in many ebooks selling websites. I wonder how do they do that. Can some one else give me info on this would be great.

In this case, as Getagrip suggested, you are going to have to use Camtasia.

Try CamStudio. It's free and appears to be popular. Then there is also Jing. It is created by the same people as Camtasia.

I have Camtasia and Snagit.
Though they are a little pricey I felt it was worth the cost.
I also have Flash and a bunch of additional programs that I felt were worth the purchase price.
You get what you pay for and you shouldn't hold back on essential software if you are truly serious about making a living from online marketing.
Just buy your software one piece at a time and it won't ruin your finances.

I agree that Camtasia and Snagit are both worth their cost, and they are both realitively easy to use to generate solid video.

http://www.jingproject.com/ is pretty cool and easy to
use. I have Camtasia but I don't do a lot of screen capture
video. Mostly I do talking head and flash-type stuff. I've
done a fair bit of research on the topic however and there
are arguments for using Camstudio.
Whatever program you use there is the issue of video
compression to be aware of. I use Flix standard for .flv
compression with excellent results and a high level of
user satisfaction.
