I own a small ad placement agency and have large contracts for Career Builder and Hot Jobs that our clients love they are cheap, cheap and really perform well. We buy posting credits in bulk and resell them to our clients allowing them to get the mass discounts that only larger advertisers normally qualify for. We love the low cost and the immediate responses that they bring in.
I would love to expand our offerings onto Monster, but have run into a roadblock. I have been told that they don't like home-based business and business opportunity ads. I cannot imagine that this is really true.
Does anyone use Monster? If so, have you had comparable success to Hot Jobs or Career Builder?

You might contact Monster and/or Career Builder directly and ask them.
I haven't seen that sort of question on this forum before so don't be surprised if you don't get much feedback.

I know Career Builder does. We do recruiting ads for clients there all the time and they do great. Monster is interesting because they'll say they do and accept your business and then within a few days pull the postings and not do a refund.
I'm not gambling on them again until I find someone else out there that is doing okay. I have never found any recruiting for my business opportunity clients to be so successful. IF Monster would take the ads, I'd bet they would do just as well.

I was successfully using Monster.com to recruit people for my network marketing team in pre-launch this June. Within my first week I had 4 new people on my front line from my ad. I was so excited.... thought I had hit the lottery until Monster discovered the attention my new ad was getting. It had over 400 views and I had 50 applicants. The brand name entering the market got a little more than usual attention, I guess? At any rate, my ad was canceled and I got a 100% refund. I didn't want a refund, I wanted to keep going . Since this experience, I have tamed down my home based opportunity ad and I am not using Monster.com.... although I would if they would let me! To your success!

It can be, but it depends on volume. For an individual business, it would be a gamble, but for an agency like us, we combine all of our clients buying power and they get it so much cheaper. I've been really successful with Career Builder. My clients pay $150/ per city for 30 days where other advertisers pay over $400 for the same thing. Hot Jobs is the same way. My contract with them allows my advertisers to buy if from us for cheap, cheap! $175/ 10 cities for 30 days. So, to answer your question, yes, it can be expensive for advertisers like yourself if you're buying alone. You would want to find a buyer to get you a deal and it would be worthwhile then. That's why businesses like ours do so well! Hope that answers your question.
Monster has just been a different story for us. I would think we could do well there, but I just haven't found them to be so receptive to bus oppts. I was hoping someone out there could tell me they were running it and doing well.

Monster ran $397 for one ad. I was getting $100 fast start sign up for Trump, so this offset my cost.

Did they require you to run in Business Opportunities or allow you to go in general help wanted to get the most traffic?
I find that my clients in Hot Jobs do SOOO much better in help wanted vs. business oppts.
Did you run for multiple months?

Somehow I past compliance and it ran in general.... they do not have buz op ads. I was also shut down after one week. Monster does NOT allow business opportunities.

That's what happened to us, too. I guess we'll stick with Career Builder and Hot Jobs until things change with Monster. You should try Hob Jobs or Career Builder sometime. Our clients love it! We get a lot of people rebuying it over and over because they do perform well.

Am I reading this correctly? You can run an ad on hot jobs for a month in 10 different cities for $175.
