I read articles for months about writing articles and how great they are for driving traffic to your website. I will admit that I did not take these articles seriously until I actually did it and am now seeing the results. This is awesome! A FREE way to get people to your website. Plus, writing articles is viral and grows and grows without any effort on your part.

Is anyone else seeing a benefit from article writing?

Todd

Writing articles has amazing benefits only if done the right way. It has become more of a numbers game now with more emphasis to quantity than quality. It's pretty easy to get your aritcle listed on hundreds of article directories that have spring up lately. However, the benefits you get from such listings is very miniscule compared to those you get from getting your article listed on authority sites. Search engines know how easy it is to get your article listed on such directories and hence the links you get from such site may not even be factored towards your site's ranking.

You start reaping real benefits from articles only when you focus on quality than quality. Rather than churning out 1 article with rehashed information every day, if you could come up with an article containing information that is not found elsewhere, once a month, you'll witness amazing growth.

I like writing articles but I don't think I know any good secrets to make it work really good. If someone could help me a little with some tips that would be great.

Vishal P. Rao? You said that you need to get your articles listed on authority sites. What kind of sites is that if you could give a good example?

All the best,

John

Yes. Writing original articles and submitting them to standard directories certainly helps in getting visitors. But the article's content should be related to the content of your site. People should feel after reading the article that they will benefit in some way by visiting your site.

Authority sites are the sites with most traffic and have been enjoying a steady top ranking in search engines for a long time. Most of the time, these are sites within top 5 ranking in Google for your related market.
