 There are several threads in this forum that will answer each of your questions as stated above.
 
 RSS is an acronym that is short for Really Simple Syndication.
 
 If you wish to use it on your site to syndicate your articles, I suggest that you use a software program called FeedBurner (owned by Google).

 If you'd like to pipe articles from various sites to one convenient place for your own reading, I suggest you use Google Reader.

 By "software to collect visitors' emails" do you mean "list building"?
