For me its videos without a doubt. I don't know why, but it gets on my nerves! As soon as I hear "Hi! My name is *insert marketing guru name here* and I was once just like you" I hit the mute button.

Pop unders come a very close second. So what gets your goat?

Same with Video. Anything the shouts right at my face turns me off - pop-ups, pop-unders, spam emails, so on.

I dislike the advertisements that are integrated so well with the site it's sometimes hard to navigate, or realize where the page/section ends. It's smart for advertising I suppose but they are a pain.

Similar to the ones on this site lol.

We live in a culture where we are constantly assaulted by advertisements, and in an effort to maintain our sanity, we have learned how to subconsciously tune them out.

But when a clever marketer manages to sneak one past our built-in screen, right into our faces to get our attention, it can be annoying. Still, we as marketers ourselves can't avoid taking note of the strategy and acknowledging its effectiveness.

I hate the pop up's the most! Now some of them are so tricky you get two boxes, one with a live consultant and another telling you to hit ok to avoid it, which is the opposite of what one would expect!

This is not online advertising but still derived from internet capabilities to set it up - Voice mail phone call's. My phone no. is on my company website. I now get all kind of marketer's calling me from this trying to solicit me for other business'.

I hate that too. It's almost like we have to trick people into our programs.

Also hate the popups that follow your mouse around uhhh..

I always HATE it when all these sites claim to give anyone "FREE" advertising for joining, but then make you upgrade and pay to even allow you to post a link for what your advertising! That always makes me mad!

What pisses me off the most are those overlong ads, in which the huckster (uh, I mean the salesperson) presents an outrageous sob story of how he and his family once lived on cat food and how he had to climb down the apartment drainpipe to avoid being spotted by the landlady!

And it just goes on endlessly, as he brags about how much money he made with some revolutionary system that he created! If there is a photo of him on a yacht or standing against his luxury sports car, that's even more annoying. And yes....those kinds of unbelievable websites often have at least one pop-up just to get you on their mailing list.

The worst part of these types of ads, Is that for some reason they work!!. People buy into it. You would think after a while people would catch on but nope.,. Sucker born every minute. I'm too honest to advertise that way but some people are just greedy and have no conscience.
