Is the submission of the site to the directories the only way to get permanent links? Are there any other ways? Please reply.

 Thanx in advance.

Quoting: pcwork You can also post comments in relevant blogs
99% of blogs have "nofollow" attributes applied to links in comments. So that won't help to improve your site's link popularity.

The best way to get links is by writing and submitting articles to article directories/websites. Of course the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Writing testimonials, offering free software and services (designing, copywriting, etc.) in return for links are some of the out of the box ways to get permanent links.

I find posting useful posts in topic relevent forums with a linked signature is helpful.

Link exchange also gets you 'permanent' back links.

True they are helpful but not always permanent. Vishal's been cool about allowing our signatures in this forum viewable for everyone who visits to see our sig. But with most forums you need to be registered and logged in before you can see a signature.

Also a lot of forums follow the "no follow" rule (including this forum) so permanent links is out of the question if you're relying on you're signature to get you back links.

Agree 100%! Reciprocal linking is a rock solid way to get back links to your site and help increase your PR.
