 can i just right the copyright details at the bottom of my site pages
 , as i created it so i own the rights, or is it not as simple as that. ( Looks a bit unprofessional without this at the mo)

 Yeah, that's all you need to do - just make sure to use Copyscape occasionally to make sure no one has stolen your work.

 You can register copyrights, but it is time consuming and expensive
