What you can do is create and sell an ebook on a "related" topic, and sell it on eBay for 99 cents, and offer the original ebook you have written as a "free bonus". You can also use an opt in form on your website and give the ebook away as an incentive for getting people to sign up for your email list.

just upload the book to your server and place a download link on a page in your site. Your web host should be able to help you out with this.

Speaking of eBooks...I just got into Affiliate marketing and I was looking over a lot of the products on Clickbank. No offense to anyone who writes these, but do people really pay money for these "ebooks"? I mean $29 to download instructiosn on how tot rain your dog? I just saw a book on that at Petsmart for $4.99. No offense to the people that write them, because I would love to make a commission on selling them. I'm just wondering if people really ever buy them before I spend too much time advertising them.

pcwork...question for you...is it possible to post an ad in CL and make it appear in all of the free cities (not NY, SF, other paid cities)?

 Thanx 671 one-liner :)

Send an email to everyone on your list giving them the link to download the ebook. Post in as many niche related forums as you can. Have a splash page rotating in a several traffic exchanges giving away the book. Good ebooks are viral. Just give it away everywhere.

 For getagrip -
How do you make money selling an eBook for 99 cents? What's the goal? I see a lot of eBooks on eBay for 99 cents, but doesn't it cost money to sell on eBay? I'm just curious what the angle is. My husband wants to write an eBook about building houses, like "Be your own General Contractor", so I'm researching how we would advertise and sell it online.

 Great ideas LifeofEgypt & getagrip!

I have an ebook that I give away to EVERYONE. I didn't write this ebook, but know the person who did so I got it right away and it has gone viral VERY fast. I advertise it anywhere I can, but giving it away really builds your list fast.

 Hope that helps.

99c is the cost that covers listing fees etc on eBay .... so in essence, it's like giving it away free.

 So why?

Could be several reasons, the most popular are:

 1) Building expertise, credibility and vanity! Becoming kinown and recognised.

 2) List building. IF each purchaser or recipient of free ones are 'captured' ... you know they have some interest in the topic and now have their details (and permission if they opted in and gave permission) so you can continue the marketing process with them to sell them more stuff.

 3) Links. If the eBook contains links to your site or sites readers will click on those links and visit wherever you wish. These can be other marketing sites, expertise info sites, affiliate links etc.

Did you mean "advertise" or market?

There are many many ways to do both of those ... way to complex to answer in one post. Ask me more and I'll tell you more.

Definately find out where the potential market is, where they 'hang out' and offer it to them on there. You must be careful on most Forums and discussion boards though, and perhaps only make posts that are true helpfulo answers and incluse a link to a website in your sig file so people visit to find more about him.

Have a website specifically on and about the book.

 Give away free chapters.

Put up a video or two about the content plus linkis back to the site.

 Give copies away in competitions.

Create one or more blogs each on specific niche topics with the broader subject matter. Point these to the main website.

Just a few ideas to get you started.

 For now

You can sign up to paydotcom or clickbank in order promoters to advertise your ebook.

I have a free e-book to promote and I am mostly using it as an incentive for those who subscribe to my blog's newsletter.
Then it comes down to promoting the blog itself and for that I use traffic exchange programs such as trafficswarm or wjob. I also use technorati, entrecard and blogrush.
You can have more details on those on my blog if you wish.

 a smart tip here
  ( i think so)
contact other ebook sellers on ebay and give them your ebook and tell them they can give away that ebook as a bonus to their buyers.

well, contact around 10-30 ebayers and your ebook will fly

have links to your optin page and the main product page in the ebook of course.

apply this then and ask for more i will try some more ideas
 take care
