Interviewed Leads - Double Opt-In

Just wondering if any of you network marketers out there have utilized interviewed leads in building your team?
Is it best to start with less expensive leads - to practice?
Are double opt-in leads usually pretty responsive?
What has your experience been?

Nope...I don't think its a good idea to pay for leads.
