Hi,

Can someone tell me if changing from one company to another hosting company and transferring the existing domain to the new hosting company affect someone's site to rank differently in the search engines? I am considering changing the companies.

I don't think so, only if you change your domain name or the file extension could turnup your search position.. not changing the hosting company.. but you should backup your database perfectly to fit to the new hosting, be careful on that if you have database...

Changing your host should not cause any problem as for as ranking is concerned. But do not change your domain name. Make sure you are going to a better hosting and take back up of all the files. Once you move your website the old hosting company may not help you.

One good company I'd recommend is Godaddy.com - which I use for all but one of my websites. What you can do is give them a call and ask them this question - and they can point you in the right direction. Its not a toll free call, though - that is how they cut down on costs - but if you have a cell phone, you can probably call them for free (if you live in the USA) since most cell phones come with free long distance.

Changing hosts should not create any problem, unless there is a problem with your new hosting company's servers
