Your input would be much appreciated. Details would be a big bonus

What paid hosting services do you use and why?

Is yours the cheapest? Does it offer a lot of bells and whistles for a very low price? Does it have good site building software, good traffic stats, it allows forums or blogs, it has great customer service, etc?

I like blue host, host monster, and go daddy.

I use Sitesell via SBI. It is $299 for the year and has the whole shebang. It includes all my site building software, auto responders, blogging, best forum I've ever seen, step by step written and video tutorial for building an online business of just about any variety, excellent support, and my new favorite feature, Content 2.0.

C2.O allows my site visitors to add content to my site (with my approval) and then allows others to comment and rate. You can check it out on my chocolate site at this page Chocolate Candy Favorites [Link removed - Admin]. I just implemented it last week, so I only have a few submissions so far. I am waiting on the snowball effect. Feel free to join in and add your favorites while you're there -
I'm still using the free trial version, but if it takes off, I will upgrade to the paid version for $99 a year. A very good investment considering all the resulting content I will be receiving.

Anyway, my hosting isn't as cheap as some, but I think it is a real bargain when all that is included is considered. I'm a very, very satisfied customer.

Host4Profit has been very good for me. You can host additonal domains for $5 a month after your first one which is $24.95 a month. You earn $10 a month on each account you refer.

They have great up time, offer excellent back end support, and site statistics. Sub Domains are free. You also get access to the Warrior Forum.

I use bluehost. It only costs about $9 a month if you pay for a whole year in advance, and they give you unlimited domain names, unlimited email addresses, more bandwidth than you would ever need. The list goes on and on. For what you get, the value is great!

I use the WA and site rubix because I am a member of WA. As you are I believe. I hope to go to a cheaper host when I feel like I have learned enough from Travis, C&K to go it on my own. What can I say? WA is a great program, one of the few good ones out there that really help noobs like me. I do have some issues with WA hosting and Site Rubix however. Still haven't figured out how to get adsense and google analytics to run. I think I am going to try to edit the SR pages with a third party editor and re-upload with a third-party ftp program. Have you found an easy way to get adsense and analytics on SR pages or do you just use a third party editor and ftp program?

It really depends on how sophisticated I want my site to be. I'd like to give some advice to the newbies. From my own experience, if you are new to making a website, start out small and start out paying small. I recently put together a simple 5 page site using godaddy.com and it came with free hosting from website tonight. I am not trying to advocate this site/product and most of us know about it. It is not the most functional and advanced, but it is relatively simple and easy to use. In total, I paid $8 to get the website up and running. Again though, I want to emphasize that this is intended to be a simple website.

Earlier this summer I moved my hosting from go daddy to just host.
Go daddy hosting is reliable but crippled. They disable functionality that made doing a couple of things I wanted to do impossible.

Just host is pretty cheap and all the functions I need work. I am happy with the service so far.

The long term plan is to get a mac mini and co-locate at macminicolo.

I use bignm.com. Costs about $99.95 a year, about $8 a month, for unlimited domains and subdomains. You can give it a try for free for the first 30 days.

The original post was created almost two years ago.

I still think highly of BlueHost and HostMonster but as has happened several times in the past, I have since switched hosting services.

Like Matt and Ty, I currently favor HostGator by a slight margin.

That may change in the future. I'm always on the lookout for a great hosting company!

Hosting companies are very competitive for customers!. As with any industry.

Currently I believe HostGator certainly a top leader of the hosting industry.

Quality, for cheap. GREAT Afilliate program, and smart marketing.

Hostgator without a doubt.
Baby Croc gives you unlimited domains all for under $10 a month.
With Fantastico Deluxe CPanel you have whole range tools and services to choose from.
Wordpress and Joomla are my favourite blog and cms software.
Their support system is ultra fast.
I'm very impressed.

I use SBI! as well and I love it. I also use content 2.0 so I pay $400/year total for the service. I plan on buying another SBI subscription for myself and one for my mom when they do the buy 1, get 1 promo in December.

Good for you, Sonya! We know a good thing when we experience it, eh?

All the best on your next site!
