I just completed the a medical transcription course through EVCC utilizing the Career Step Program. I know for a fact there are plenty of job opportunities to work from home as a medical transcriptionist. It definitely is legit and a great career to get into. You can choose to work for yourself as an independent contractor from home or work for an employer with all the great benefits as a sub-contractor and still work from home; or if you wish to work on-site you certainly can do so as well.
Great work from home career!

Yes, medical transcription is a popular work at home career. How much time did you take to complete the course?

It took me 9 months to complete the course as a full time student. What was great with Everett Community College was that I was able to have financial aid pay for my program and books.

mely,
do you take the courses as an out of state resident? did financial aid pay for all of your program and books or just part of it? it sounds like a good program but I am from Illinois and I would hate to have too dish out almot 7,000 without any financial help!

Hello...

I am taking courses in the same state the program is being taught from. Because the program is offered nationwide, I am not sure how the out of state tax works. The program is offered through Everett Community College and they utilize the Career Step Program. Financial Aid is offered for this program, which pays for ALL my classes, books, and supplied, therefore nothing is coming out of my own pocket.
If you would like more information, you can contact Dotty Bock @ 425-388-9074 to learn more.
Hope this helps.

Congrats on completing the program, Mely!

I've been working at home as a medical transcriptionist for 11 years, love it.
