Hi guys
I was just a ponderin' whether you have a dedicated space for your internet businesses or if you just grab a quiet space when and where you can?
I have a laptop which is by design, meant to be carried around, so even though I have only dipped my big toenail into the world that is the internet I tend to place myself upstairs in the warmth and comfort of my bedroom once my littlest darling is in bed. Other times I sit in the front room, mainly in the afternoons, with the tv off (husband at work) Otherwise I get distracted by tv/husband/magazines etc.
I think once I am a little more immersed I will perhaps put a small desk in the bedroom, I didn't really want to turn it into an office but under the stairs is a little dark and cold!
So did you have a dedicated space to begin with or did you just do your thang when and where you could? Has anything changed since you began to do whatever it is you do more often?
Just ponderin'

I live in a studio apartment, and I have a desk in my living room where I use my laptop. Sometimes, I get "four wall syndrome" and need to get away from my apartment, so I'll take my laptop to an internet cafe where there is free wireless internet. Also, sometimes I'll go to the library of the local university and use their computers if I have some writing or other projects I need to work on. Basically, I can focus a little more when I work in different environments.

I work on a desktop on a desk in our bedroom. We live in a two bedroom apartment. My son uses the other room. My laptop can't handle the program I use to build my site. So, I use hubby's computer.

I have my own office in my house, but am in the process of renting out a suite in a local building.

I just sit near my sofa, take my laptop, keep it in my lap or a stool and start working.
It is not the space that matters, it is the guys we have....

The 4th bedroom in our home is a dedicated office. My wife and I are in the master bedroom obviously and my two boys in the other two rooms. Having an actual designated office space has tax advantages as well.

I have a spare bedroom I use. It's wall to wall computers, printers, routers and one large desk. A neighbor that was moving sold me an oak entertainment wall system that I use as my "wiring closet" and equipment rack. I basically live in this room about 10 hours a day banging away on the keyboard.

I usually work from a chaise next to a window facing a lake.. my point is that I think you should find a part of your house that's well lit and peaceful enough so you can really concentrate on the job at hand. Clutter certainly does not help one to feel organized or productive.

I think it's important to have at least a semi-dedicated space for work because it helps you to focus on what you're doing and keep your notes in order.
My dedicated space is a table in the kitchen

I've been lucky in that I've been able to convert our spare bedroom into an office. It's quiet, comfortable and distraction free.
I've even got a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities up here, along with shelves for my files, documents, camera equipment etc.
I love it up here, I get so much work done!
