It seemed "Random Chat" was the best place to say hello!
I found this forum today, completely by accident, and was amazed at how big and active it is!
I've worked from home since 2004, when my son was born. I basically went on pregnancy leave and decided to find a way not to have to go back. I definitely went through my share of trials and learned a lot by making really dumb mistakes, but I stuck it out and now consider myself to be a pretty well versed online marketer.
I think one of the things about working online, from home, is that it can be very isolating. I have a few good friends that do this too, and I can Skype with them during the week, but it's sometimes hard not having a "fellow employee" to share something funny that happened in your day. People who don't work online, don't get what I do at all. In fact, I get varied reactions when I say I "work online". I must be in to porn and pills, right? LOL. (I'm not!)
Anyway, it's great to find this community. I hope I can pop by from time to time and get to know some faces (or, rather -- screen names!).

Hey Welcome Lauren - glad to have you!

I know exactly what you are talking about ... and it why I am hopelessly addicted to the forum here...

Hi mountainmom5!
I actually read quite a few of your posts yesterday, I'm glad you posted! I just read your site, and we have a lot in common. I'm glad to see you found your way and didn't quit!
So many people I met, who started when I did (back in 04), are no longer doing IM. I just never gave up. I guess you can call it an irrational belief that I would eventually succeed! LOL.

Hi Lauren,
Just wanted to say hello and add my welcome to Viola's.
I can relate to what you are saying about not having someone to "share" your online experiences with.
I'm fortunate to have a pretty terrific mother. We live half a world apart, but she's my best girlfriend. She doesn't own a computer or have the first idea of what I'm talking about if I get into too much detail, but she cheers me on and shares in my joys, mistakes, and accomplishments of my online working adventure.
It's been a blessing to have her as a sounding board and cheerleader and sympathetic ear when I need one.
I think she's still in shock that I'm making a decent amount of money working online (I'm still in shock sometimes, too). I hope one day to be making enough to really take care of my parents in the way I've always wanted to.
I'm glad you found your way here, and I hope you'll be able to help and be helped as a result.
Blessings, Angie

Hi Angie,
Thanks for your response. It's nice to meet you here. I loved your website and your story.
I can see now I have to be careful about how much time I spend here, because I find myself reading posts and people's website links for way too much time!

Very true! I have to limit myself or I get nothing else done.
