Hi Patty,
Nice to meet you. Your site is really cute in design! Well done.
I did notice that your navbar (site menu) links off to a bunch of other sites and affiliate sites, but you don't have much content of your own on the site.
It looks like you have several sites and some have been around a while. You've been quite busy. They are all lovely in design, but I'm wondering how much traffic you are getting to them (based on the rankings)?
Do you know that you can bring in a lot of free traffic to your sites by doing some keyword research and adding pages to your site about those specific phrases searchers are using to find info. related to your site topics?
You can then "presell" them and send them on to your affiliate sites or get them involved in one of your MLM opportunities or just order some of your products. You would be able to really increase your potential sales that way.
If that's something that appeals to you, there's a free Affiliate Marketing Course ebook that explains the process and also another one on the 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing (on one of my sites below) and would help you improve your business.
Once again, lovely to have you join us here. I hope you will be helped and also share your experience with us.
Blessings, Angie

hi everybody, Well here i am the complete new person. I found this site a few days ago while trying to check out the validity of various opportunities to earn an income on the internet. Affiliate and network marketing seem to be very attractive but I have absolutely no idea where to start, which business do I join, which is honest, which one will help me from the beginning, which one will answer my questions, which one will not just take my limited funds and then disappear into cyberspace, you may consider me a computer caveman. Of all the threads that I read on this site the original post by 'mountainmom' was what attracted me to sign up here and briefly introduce myself: I am a 52 year old (53 next month) retail sales manager, father of 3 grown up sons, grandfather of 6, and dedicated husband. My computer knowledge is limited to checking and sending email and searching on google. I need to learn from scratch, from the very beginning from someone who was once in the boat that I now find myself aboard, I need to know where to start, not halfway through, not to join a business just to find I am way out of my depth because i don't understand the terminology.........I feel like the caveman who has found a box of matches but dosn't know how light a fire with them. So this post (the very first I have ever done anywhere) is in a way my ..........Cry for Help.................
I look forward to reading any comments and suggestions and offers many regards to all Anthony

Hi Anthony,
First let me congratulate you on tackling this crazy online world of marketing as someone "over 50." You aren't alone.
I learned through SBI (SiteBuildIt) which is a step by step website business building program. It has a private members forum, and today in my member newsletter their was reference to a particular section of the forum called "The 50-Plus-Years-Old Thread"...
It's been going for a year as those who fall into the 50+ category have been discussing their progress, etc., of learning to build an online business using SBI.
I'd love for you to read that thread as my guest in the forum. I think it would be a great encouragement and inspiration to you.
If you will send me a note by private message (just click on the envelope next to my name on the left), I will be happy to give you a link to the thread and the password to gain access. I think it will be a real help.
I was in the same boat as you as far as internet knowledge and experience was concerned. I learned just about everything I know from SBI over the last 2 years, completely from "scratch." You can too.
Blessings, Angie

Good morning Angie,
Thankyou so much for replying to my post. It is very encouraging to know that I have found the opportunity to interact with others (especially those around my age group or older) who have been in my shoes or are at this time just starting out like me.
I found a free course yesterday called the thirty day challenge and i'm looking into that too to see what they have to say.
I have sent you a note on the Private message as you asked.
I look forward to coming here to this forum and reporting on my progress for all to read. So here I go wish me luck I fear i may need a bit of that too.....finding this sight was a real good start.
thanks again Angie Regards Anthony

Anthony S: I feel like the caveman who has found a box of matches but dosn't know how light a fire with them.
Welcome Anthony and at least you are not afraid to light the fire!
So glad to have you here and just so you know - I grew up without any electrical conveniences so I didn't have a computer either till I was well past 30... If I can do it - you can do it.
Absolutely feel free to come on here anytime with questions - it is one of the best ways to learn as you often get to hear more than one perspective on any given topic.

Your welcome Anthony. I enjoy helping others get started in the right direction. I was so lost and confused when I first started online a couple of years ago that I would have welcomed a helping hand.
It's difficult to know what program to start with or follow, since there are so many different ones to choose from. I really resorted to praying about it and then finally found something that, when I read it, it just 'clicked.' I knew it was the right thing for me. I hope that will happen for you too.
I did answer your private message, so that will give you even more reading! You are going to have your hands full for a while just reading. That's good in a way. It's best to look before you leap.
Wishing you all the best. Angie

Good morning, mountainmom and happywife.
Thankyou both for your warm welcomes, words of advice and encouragement. Just a quick note to you both before I have to get off the computer.
It is Sunday morning here on Cape Cod at 10.30am and I've been glued to this screen since about 6am reading, (very interesting stuff..thanks for link Angie) and my wife is shouting at me to come on and get showered, shaved and dressed as we are going out for Sunday lunch.
I think 'Time Management' is the one of the first things I have to address and come to terms with, adding the time devoted to this new journey of mine to the other things in life like family, work, recreation etc. I would be interested in your perspectives on this topic...like right now for instance... I really have to go but I feel like a kid with new toy and I want to keep playing with it!!!
have a great Sunday Anthony

Hello All,
I've always found answers to my questions without posting until today. Today I have questions about WAH, specifically about West at home. Where to I go to ask these questions>

I know the feeling. It's very addictive isn't it? You do have to be strict with yourself. It takes real effort and time when you get started, but I think it's important to keep your priorities straight.
Sadly for me, the Lord has not blessed me with children, so I have more "free" time than a mom would have. But I do have a husband and a home to look after, as well as our missionary work to do. It's always a balancing act to do what is necessary and right, not just what is most compelling.
I've come to really love working online, so I have to be careful not to let it take over my life. Learning a completely new skill like this turned out to be an exciting challenge and very refreshing.
Getting started does require a good bit of time. First you have to research and decide what you are going to do. Then you have to learn how to do it, and finally, you have to do it.
Once you have a firm foundation built for your online business, depending on what type of business you pursue, you can often ease off some.
My first site doesn't need as much time and energy anymore, so it freed me up to start other sites. If I only stuck with the one in the first place, it would need very little maintenance to keep it stable and/or growing.
I'm a glutton for punishment, though, and am juggling 4 sites. (or like I said earlier, addicted).
But you are right. Time Management is one of the most challenging obstacles you will face. It's worth it, though, to try to get that right. You want to keep the peace as much as possible.
Blessings, Angie

To all that are still unsure about this forum......
This is the place to be! I went from knowing very little when i joined this forum...to now about a month later....starting and creating my own niches to eventually bring in some income! There are plenty of "Senior Members" and when i say senior, I don't mean old! LOL! So, if you are reading this post, you are in the right spot!

Hello Everyone, Happy Sunday to all, Thanks for the replies about 'Time Management'. I am getting that down somewhat now. As for the learning curve that I have embarked on I have been doing the 30 day challenge, (although it usually takes me about 2 to 3 days to get through each lesson and complete the assignments ) I am on day 10 now. It has helped me a lot, I may take the SBI next but one small baby step at a time eh?
Question, I was introduced to a new company yesterday that is in pre-launch called 'wow green international'... they will be marketing 'green' household enzyme cleaning products manufactured by 'EESO' (Environmental Enzyme Solutions) and it will distributed via MLM, As I do not have product line to sell yet and being a little bit of a proponent of environmentally safe products, I am going on a conference call this afternoon to find out more.....do any of you know or have an thoughts on this type of product and the way it is going to be marketed ?
I was given the following telephone and access code for the call at 2pm EST today: phone 218-936-3860, access code 4482589 if anyone is interested.
Anyway many regards to all Anthony

Hi Anthony,
Glad to hear you are coming along. If you are really interested in the environmental niche, the "wow green" products may be a good option to include as 'part' of your monetization mix.
You need to ask if they have a policy against you having your own website to recommend their products (NOT one provided by them). Some companies have strict terms and aren't even worth the hassle if you are trying to build an online business.
Most MLM's, if they allow you to promote online, want you to use their cookie cutter websites, which are very difficult to drive traffic to. You are much better off building your own niche site on a niche subject that is tightly related and then offering/recommending the products as one of the solutions to the problems your visitors are looking for (ex. - chemical free cleaners, etc.).
All the best, Angie

Hi Angie,
Thanks for the advice, i would never have thought about asking that question at this stage in my education. I checked on the web site thing you mentioned and yes although I would have their web site and a back office, I could market the business from my own niche site or anywhere that would allow me to promote my business and products.
The products and business opportunity will be marketed through referral marketing and as it is a brand new company, the opportunity of getting in on the ground floor and being placed very close to the founding leaders is very appealing.
As it cost absolutely nothing to pre-register for a placement in the their matrix prior to product launch I have joined and while keeping a level head am quite excited about this programme.
If anyone here would like to get any information or has questions about the company and or what I am doing please either post a reply here or send me a private message although yes I am a newbie, I am 'working it' and learning new wonderful things everyday....and it all started here...thankyou again to all especially 'happywife' and 'mountainmom' who first made me welcome here.
have a great day everyone Anthony

Kudos to you Anthony (and all the rest of you that have gotten started with 'something')
THAT is often the hardest part - as we all know, huh?! - is to actually FIND what it is that we want to do.
Here is a really cool website on Social Networking - if you go to the Training Vault, I believe it is called, you will find all kinds of stuff on how to use places like Facebook, Adlandpro, Twitter, and all the free social networking places.... (and it is not an affiliate site so I believe it will be okay to list it here! )

That's really great, Anthony. I'm glad you will be able to use your own website, since I'm convinced that is the best way to "do MLM."
If you are really excited and interested in a "green niche" you should build a website around a particular narrow field in that niche (preferably one that you know will dovetail nicely with the products this new company will offer).
Build the site around the keyword phrases people are searching for related to that particular issue. Once you've built up a foundation, you can add various affiliate links to related products, also refer your Wow products, add some Google Adsense for extra cash, maybe develop your own green ebook on one aspect of the subject and sell it from your site, etc.
The secret is NOT to build the site exclusively around WOW. If the company doesn't thrive (many new companies don't), you will still have a viable business around your niche. You can just swap out the recommendations for the Wow products with other products that meet the need. You lose a small amount of time, but not your whole business.
That's what I've done with my parasite site. I'm with an MLM called AIM (The Barley Life Company) and I recommend their products on my site. I also earn money from Adsense, Clickbank (2 related ebooks), and other affiliate programs.
AIM's been around for almost 30 years so I don't expect them to crash and burn, but if for some reason I ever have to sever my business relationship with them, my site is still a viable health related site and I can recommend other quality products in exchange for the ones AIM provide. Does that make sense?
All the best!
Blessings, Angie
