Napping for half an hour or so in the afternoon helps a lot in improving mental clarity and performance. It's like restarting your day with same energy and enthusiasm you had early in the morning (after you overcome that sleepy feeling for about 10-20 minutes).

There is a myth that napping reduces the quality of night sleep. That happens only when you nap for more than half an hour to 45 minutes. Napping for short periods can actually help you sleep better, if you are one of those who find it hard to wind down after a hard days work.

However, not all are entitled to this heavenly experience and we, work at homers, have to be really grateful to be able to nap Just try!

As a boy growing up in the Caribbean, it was commonplace for the "older folks" whose schedules permitted it, to take a nap in the early afternoon. I used to think it was drowsiness resulting from the heavy midday meal. But I later learned it was therapeutic, reinvigorating, helped reduce stress and slowed the aging process.

Thirty minutes of meditation in the afternoon (or anytime for that matter) will also clear and refresh the mind, and produce similar health benefits.

Absolutely! But you need rock solid will power to meditate in the afternoon after lunch. It's almost impossible to avoid falling asleep (atleast for me) That's why they say you should always meditate on an empty stomach.

Do you really think you need to learn napping? Don't you feel drowsy in the afternoon after lunch? Just try reading some books or do some mundane activities like watching news on TV after lunch. You should eventually fall asleep. And don't forget to keep that alarm clock nearby to wake you up after 30 to 45 mintues

The key to successful napping is not to overdo it.
