Hi All!

I'm Canadian, so I don't need it but..I was just "keeping up" with our constantly upgraded program and WOW! This new health insurance plan with Coastal looks like a GIANT improvement on what was already a wonderful Coastal bonus benefit!

Have any of you people down in the States signed up with it and had any experiences using it and having savings with their guarentee?

I know that is a major concern for many people looking to leave corporate america and become entrepreneurial. Its great that our BOD has upgraded the plan!

My question is- how is the customer service? I know its really FRUSTRATING to need healthcare services and not be able to get answers or help? Also, have you found that you really did save more then with any other plan?

Cheers

No.. sorry Edit, I was looking in my CSG dashboard and saw the info.

There is some kind of debit card provided for expenses (just a small amount, mind you) but what struck me is that there was a 100% guarentee that for services, you would be paying the lowest available. Also, I liked that they had a diabetic supplies program.

Ask on a BOD call about it.. I know they are the people that arrange that good stuff for us- they should be able to send you to a site or mail you something.

Cheers

Jani

Edit,

I can send you the phone number and group number if you want it. I still have health insurance so I have not found out about the details of this plan, but I will definately have to look in to it soon. I have not called them yet but I would love to hear details if you find out anything.

Hi Edit.. What I read is its a whopping $99/month and their guarentee is that you will pay the LOWEST amount possible. Looks like medical, dental, supplies and rx!

Noreen- I don't know when you signed up- but this looks like a new carrier from when I last looked at it about 5 months ago?

So, worth your time to look into it!

Cheers

As I told Edit last night, I still have health insurance now, so I have not called and cannot vouch for the plan, but I just gave him the info. I would love to hear the details.

Oh.. thats too bad! I was hoping someone around here can speak as to the new plans benefits and quality! I know that medical insurance is often a major family expense and big issue for many of my friends and collegues in the USA. Granted, up here- we pay quite a bit more tax for publically funded, universal health so I think the difference is made up in the end. I see that our system is becomming more Americanized though.. so I'm wondering if down the road, Coastal doesn't pick up an extended health insurance plan for us Canucks?

Edit, if you have the information on the new program, try it and find it works for your family and you like the service and save money.. can you please let us all know?

Thanks!
