Hi everyone!
I sent off for my vouchers for one of the trips and was just curious how long after you send the form in, do you typically get your vouchers so you can schedule the trip? Thanks in advance!

Give it a few more days. Normally, I receive materials from the shipping center within a couple of days. There was one time, though, that it took nearly two weeks. A busy period, maybe? I'm not sure.
If for some reason you don't get what you asked for, then first call the shipping center. After that, if you still have a problem, I'd suggest making an additional request in writing.

Don't forget, we are depending on the most unreliable form of delivery, the U S Post Office. I sent Hoyt a check one time by priority mail that is supposed to be there in 3 days max and it took almost 2 weeks. I have done everything overnight ever since then.

Thanks for the info. That makes me feel better. Where do I find the number for the shipping center?

Harold makes an excellent point. I bought a game on eBay for my son in December. The seller (100% positive feedback for years) shipped it with a confirmation # that showed DELIVERED within three days. I never received it until last week - 4 months later!!!! Obviously, the fault of the USPS.
However, when I sent my request for the Coastal updates two weeks ago, I received them within a week. So, I think you shouldn't worry too much...

Oh, the number for the shipping center is: 1-800-283-1526. Your upline (or group) should have this information for you also
Call and leave a message. It may take them as long as a week to reply, though.

My experince w/shipping center is that they slow, not returning calls at all. Now they raised shipping cost to flat rate $25.00... It still took 10 days to get package, with paying premium for S&H.
I wish they open another shipping center, would make it better and faster.

Aren't they going to set up a system where we can order the vacations and pay the shipping for them online sometime soon? Or did I just dream this?
Also, if I am sending in for more than 1 vacation, do I have to send individual cashier's checks/money orders or can I combine it all into one check?
Thanks, Jen

Hi Jen,
I don't know about the online ordering (although sometimes the glossies have that option when you get them back), but I have combined the totals into one money order when activating the certificates with no problems.

Well, the best way is to activate them yourself - then you can give your friend the glossy while keeping your membership number private.
But, in case you haven't been told this, the Fly & Stays are no longer valid due to problems with the vendor. What you will probably get back when you activate that vacation is a Cruise & Stay.

oh wow, thanks for pointing that out Savvy, So if we put in for a cruise and stay, do they have to cover airfare themselves to the port of departure city?

Yes, unless they happen to live near the port and are close enough to drive.

Doesn't it seem like the shipping center should do a better job than this? When I first signed up with Coastal it took me over two weeks to get my package, I paid 25.00 for FedEx and they shipped it by mail? Then you have to mail in the paper for the voucher which is understandable, but they should do I better job at turn around, that is all I am saying. I think if we could order the trips online, that would be great!!
Does it make a difference if you mailed in a copy of the vacation form instead of the actual color form? It says right on there to make copies for future use. I was wondering if this could be the hold up?

Well, I have to agree with you that the system seems a bit antiquated. I noted with amusement in one of Jeff Mill's posts that he mentioned he tried to get the BOD to upgrade their tools, but they wouldn't do it.
If it were up to me, Coastal would have a centralized Q&A center for members, online ordering/package information and fast turnaround. But, I'm not on the BOD.
I doubt it makes a difference whether it's a copy or not. For my retail package, I actually redesigned the vouchers to look completely different, and I still get the glossies sent without any problems...

I think it would be great if we had a website to order vouchers from. It seems it would make it easier for the people at the shipping center also. Perhaps that will be coming in the future. My guess is that the reason they don't go ahead with this is because it would raise the price of the package or require a monthly fee on top of what people are already paying for COA sites or whatever site you use. I would be delighted to pay a fee to have the ability to book on the web but with all of that said, Coastal is still, by far the best vacation membership and small business in the industry. Is it worth filling in the voucher and mailing a money order for $6.95 to be able to spend the weekend in Gatlinburg for less than $50 or is it worth going through the motions getting burn weeks that will let you stay 7 days at a 4 or 5 star condo resort within site of Disney World for less than $300? You bet it is. The web booking will get here someday. I'll be just fine until it does.
