Wow....Instant Message. I used to use it, but I had to quit as I had so many team members IMing me that I had to find a was to keep my focus.
Now, I ask my team members to email me and I respond back to them with a phone call.

I had a hard time at first , figuring out how to do this because of the mentality that you have to be constantly working in order to make money!
My schedule is around my family but I still have certain hours that I am usually dialing..
I am in MST so I can start dialing at 7am
7am - 8am dail fresh morning leads and check emails,respond,etc..
Then from 10am - 11am I am usually dialing and doing follow ups
11am , I am usually on a q&a call
And again from about 2pm - 5pm I am on the phone - however , with 4 kids still at home I have a lot of interuptions!So I am not dailing straight for 3 hours!!
In the evenings I am usually finishing up dials and follow ups and getting on whatever training calls there are available..
The reason I am doing this is so that I can be at home with the family so my schedule is not always the same but that gives you an idea!

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Any of you that want to have me on IM can do so by looking at the email address in my profile. Thats my MSN messenger. I love IM. I do have a bunch of teammates as well but they love the fact I am accessible even if its to just say hey im in the midst of doing something and ill get back to you. I love email but I dont know about you all but from time to time you might not check it in a few hours and a teammate might have what they perceive as an emergency andget frantic. I find it great leadership that I can get back to them asap via IM. Plus I spend most of my work day on the computer anyway so heck im already here. In my opinion it gives me more flexibility. I even have it on my cell phone so even away from the computer im ready for business.
I guess if you train you teammates in how to do things and share your knowledge on everything they have the tools to succeed. I train all my team that way as well as giving them my expections of them and the best resources to handle issues and most importantly I express the best way to contact me. It's been working for me great. Just what works for me. Everyone should find their own system and work it.

Happy belated birthday Adam-I've still got another 3 yrs to go and if you look at my profile I bet you'd think I was only 25 (LOL) More people should put their pictures on their profiles -I'd love to see what you all look like.
I think you are working too hard always being available on cell and computer -what does your wife think? I know you are in the business together from your website so what part of your workload to you let her accomplish?
I don't know if you do this but make sure your teammates only contact you certain hours of the day so you can actually peel your eyes away from these machines and relax. I'm sure they will understand and if it is really important they can always call you. How do you take all your great vacations if you are always available?
I actually called Jay last week and his voicemail said it was full so 1) I realized maybe he is too busy to talk to me (as I am not one of his team) and 2)-he does have a life other than Coastal (he was actually at the conference)
It is great to make Coastal your full-time life but make time for other things as well -today's society is so full of gadgets to stay in tough with each other we forget about staying in touch with ourselves.
Anyone agree?

Thanks for the reply. My wife is my best consultant. She is a travel guru. As a matter of fact when I met her she was planning a cruise for her friends. She also does alot of the prospecting as her background was in bank collections (she won employee of the year 4 of the 6 years she was at her company) so calling people to offer vacations is a piece of cake. She also told me that her goal in life was to be able to just dress and rest if she wanted. Well ive helped her achieve that dream.
I do have specific hours for teammates to contact me and most of the time ( I do forget from time to time) I put my status to away if I dont want to be bothered as im busy. Its funny I am a bit of a workaholic but I love to write so this is labor of love. Many new prospects come here to look at Coastal. I know of a 7 figure earner in Coastal that post here that has probably made 6 figures of that income from this forum itself. With numbers like that it good to be here. In addition the learning to be gained here is priceless. I have learned about web design, marketing, advertising, prospecting as wel as product knowledge from the Work at Home Forum.
The best thing ive learned is how to network. Never have I met a more dynamic set of people. It is sure like a family as well with all of the conflicts we seem to have as well.

Hi Judy,
I'm never too busy to talk. I'll bet you called me on a day when I had alot of calls to my COA Network Toll Free Number. I get calls from the toll free number letting me know that I have a message....and when this happens, it leaves a message on my voicemail.
I balance my time with things I enjoy. This week I'll begin taking golfing lessons again...don't know that they'll help, but it sure is fun. I find that it's easy to put in hours and hours of time into the business when you don't have a focus. I focus my time and energy so I can quickly and easily get the results I'm looking for.

I'll get in touch with you later this week. You are so right about focusing your energy and time on getting results. That is my plan for the next 4 weeks so I'll let everyone know how it goes.
Have fun golfing. My hobby is scrapbooking -a lot less calories burned but I still enjoy it.

Ahh..Yes, my wife scrapbooks as well. Several years ago I tried to get her to go with me to the Atlanta Gift Show, which is a wholesale show for buyers for gift shops and the like. It was HUGE!! And one of the areas was scrapbooking. There sure are some great creative people doing it.

Each day changes quite a bit for me but there are constants:
1. Exercise and inspirational reading first thing
2. Write one article per day
3. Write one press release on my business per day
4. Spend time talking to friends in forums
5. Write one blog post per day
Other than those 5 constants I enjoy the freedom to spend the rest of my day as I wish. Or, do I get to do what I like BECAUSE of those 5 constants? Hmmm . . . Sort of a "chicken and egg" quandry
