The best type of home based business should have a few things in it.

1- The business should be in a growing industry.
2- The income must be worthwhile.
3- There should be a system to follow that is duplicatable (this is important if you must recruit others).

Ive found a few businesses that have fit that criteria. Right now im involved in Coastal Vacations as it has all three points I mentioned. The challenge for many has been the start-up fee but being the innovator I am ive created an option for those that dont have alot of money. In fact I made my opportunity free.

I think in this day and time with so many scams and so many opportunities everyone should have a free or trial basis option in their business.

Its important as well to find businesses that compliment each other and can generate leads for you. Having a free opportunity gives you something where you can create a list of people that know and trust you. As that trust grows you can introduce them to you entire arsensal.

If anyone is interested in finding out more you can use the great tools of this forum to contact me. Hope to talk to you all soon.

I am learning that the best way, at least for me is article marketing. If you can write at all and want to put a couple hours in a day you can be successful writing articles for just about anything.

I would also like to add that a high consumerable product is key to a successful company.
Great upline support along with company training resources to guide and help.
Love your product and understand your market

I would prefer to educate myself on the opportunity but it will be the one I can benefit from, regardless if there was compensation involved in or not.

Do what you enjoy, I love to travel so I joined TraVerus and I'm now a Certified Travel Agent and get to travel and love what I do. I also use Send Out Cards to help me with my travel business to keep in contact with my clients, family and friends, both pay me a nice income.
Good Luck

Find a company with a great, in-demand valuable product that you can believe in and get excited about where you'll have unlimited support and mentoring by those who are already very successful. Never attempt to go it alone.

Great systems are created to be followed.

That's why I like traVerus it gives me the training the support and the ability to travel which is one of my favorite things to do. We have training meeting and support meeting several night a week. there's also online training with the different travel companies and cruiselines.

Interesting,

Working from home for past two decades has been the best years of my life, got to be with kids full time rather than typical job full time, so that was my incentive to start a dozen home businesses, something to insure if one dies do to economy, recession, whatever, I have another eleven sending me checks every month.

As many have already mentioned, choose a business that is of interest, and it is not work, it is fun, and even more fun to earn a living have fun. lol Also important, diversify, don't put all your eggs in one basket. I operate like a mutual fund, several businesses which can be operated online seemlessly and easily. Most of all, don't quit, and you will succeed.

If you don't like to sell, then don't, you don't have to with my favorite new business, it is such a unique concept and product that no one else has done it, or has what we have. If you don't like to sell or recruit, then this is for you. Oh, did I mention it is free, no cost at all for anything?

Good luck to all, Mike

I've really enjoyed working in the area of casual games. I agree with everyone here that says do something you enjoy. I love games. I've had success getting affiliate content and then wrapping my own content around the feeds from the affiliates. But if I didn't enjoy the content, then I wouldn't be able to sustain the business.

I just joined this forum and I am looking to see if I can supplement my retirement income, I don't have much money to invest but I do have plenty of time. I reed quite a few articles that are very interesting but I don't quite understand them, do you have any suggestions?Which program is it that you say it's free and no cost for anything.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Hi Marco,

Let me be among the first to greet you and say welcome to the forum.

It is difficult to understand some of the terminology until it becomes more familiar. It's almost like learning a new language.

Reading is a good way to get started. There are some very helpful free ebooks you can read on the subject of affiliate marketing, etc., that would enhance your understanding and give you a plan of action to follow.

I've noticed a lot of people seem to hop from one thing to another without ever really grasping any of them before they jump into them or making any progress before they jump out.

Perhaps it's a tiny bit necessary to hop in without a full understanding, but it's a good idea to do some decent research into the idea before you take the leap.

The few things I 'tried' in the beginning were hard to understand and follow where they were leading. There was no "aha!" moment. In fact, they seemed rather senseless and left me feeling uneasy. I'm particularly thinking of programs that you sign up to for the sole purpose of getting other people to sign up to them. Ugh!

Anyway, my suggestion is to do some reading until you feel comfortable enough with a concept to decide to give it an honest effort. Don't expect immediate results, because most things take some time to build a foundation and then reap the rewards.

I think it's fabulous that you are willing to use your retirement time to build an online extra income. If you choose to build a business around a hobby or favorite interest of yours, it won't seem like work at all, but something you really enjoy doing.

Blessings,
Angie

There are MANY, MANY good opportunities that you will find loads of info about on this forum. I have tried LOTs of different MLM's over the years and find for me that the Matrix Systems are the easiest to do and allow you to make some good money. No products you have to buy or sell, no calling unless you chose to. All that is needed is to get the word out about the system. The BEST thing about the Matrix systems is that even if you try and try and still can't seem to get anyone to join, you will get spillover from your upline when they have their people on their first line. And what's even greater is that for most of the matrix's to work and work really well, all you need to get is 3 to 5 people. (one of the ones I am in, you need 3 people, the other you need 5) So, it is so much easier for it to all work because most people can get their 3 or 5 people! Also, if you know your joining under someone who is really doing well, you may not even need to get any, because they will likely get some people for you.

Another great thing about the two systems I am in is the Teamwork! I have personally never been in any kind of business or system that has the kind of teamwork as the ones I am in now, we communicate all the time! One of them that I am in, even have the owner's on Skype most of the time ready and willing to talk to anyone anytime and answerr any questions or problems. Like I say, I have NEVER been in a business or opportunity EVER that I could talk to the owners anytime I want! Sometimes they even give me a "YOU ROCK" when I tell them some of the things I have been doing for the business.

Honestly, you have to find what works best for you and go with your gut! Only you know what you are willing and able to do, I just wanted to throw out there what has worked great for me!

Marco, those are called your signiatures. You can add one if you like. You just go to the top of the page, click on profile and then scroll down till you see the word signiature and then post your link in the signiature box. Now by "links" I mean whatever website you want to promote. It can be your business, your blog, your social network site, anything! Also there are special instructions right under the signiature box where you post your signiature that make your link "clickable" on everything you post on this forum. So, if you do post a signiature with a link, you need to be sure you follow those instructions so everyone can click on your link.

Hi Happywife

Just so you know my wife is happy too or at least I think she is!!!!
Anyway you have sent me a very good message and suggested I should read E:books and I agree with you but I have joined
My On Line Income System because I think it's a pretty decent program and believe me I am doing a lot of reading, were I get stock somewhat is when they suggest writing an article and embed it in a link, now I have to find out how to do that and it becomes a bit overwhelming and time consuming. But I think I can handle it with the help of the forums. Thanks for your kind message.
Marco

PS.I will read as many E:books and information as I can.

Marco all those links that you see when you click on my member button are links to all the comments on posts that I have made in here. If you click on your member button you will see the links that you have commented on.

As for you figuring out how to write an article, most people are using hubpages.com or squidoo.com You can go to those and check out lots of articles and blogs that people have already made. When you are in the process of making one for yourself, then you can chose the link based on the title you give your article and then that link is what you will use to direct people to your article. I have a rescent blog that I posted on Hubpages, just so you can get an idea of what you will want to do for your own business. I will private message that to you.

I will also say that myself as well as most of the people on this forum enjoy helping each other, but I will say that your upline in the business you joined should also be giving you one on one help and instructions on exactly what to do to make you succeed. I sure do for my people anyway, and I can say that I have gotten OUTSTANDING help and support from my upline as well or I would have quit internet marketing all together. I guess I am just trying to say, if they got you to join, then they should give you all the tools you need to succeed, and if they aren't contacting you and helping you, then I would chose another opportunity. That's just my opinion though.

I hope the best for you!

Good for you! Usually, the happier the wife is the happier the whole family is.

Well, if you are happy with the materials you are using, stick with it. Writing an article sounds more difficult than it actually is. Once you know what keywords you are going to write about, here's a simple formula for an article of about 450-600 words.

1. Include the keyword phrase in the Title (bold).
2. Include the keyword phrase in the first paragraph (italics).
3. Include the keyword phrase in the last paragraph (underlined).

If the article is longer, you can include the phrase once or twice more. Also, use variations and/or synonyms as sounds natural throughout the article.

Unless the article is about a "technical" subject and/or to a "technical" audience, just write like you were explaining something to a friend. Imagine they asked you a question like, "What do you know about this keyword phrase?"

Depending on where you use or submit your article, you may be able to include a text link in your article or in a source box at the end of the article.

If you use ezinearticles (which is the most popular), they will tell you exactly what code to use to create a text link to your desired destination. Just be sure to read their guidelines before submitting.

Hope that helps.
Blessings,
Angie
