Get a new one for use with anything you do related to working on the internet. Here's why:
Most of the websites you give your email address to will probably not mis-use it, but there are some that will. For example, at one point, I received 500 SPAM emails A MONTH after I gave my email address to paid surveys companies - BAD IDEA!
Also, even when you register a domain with PRIVATE a registration, you will still have people who will send you spam. This happens because, even they won't know what your email address is, they can still send you spam through your domain provider. If you reply to any of these messages and tell them to buzz off, they now have your email address!
You can get a free Yahoo or Hotmail account, which are well worth having to avoid getting SPAM in your regular email account, and even if you don't get any SPAM, its nice to be able to seperate your business and personal email addresses.

I certainly agree with you there... my gosh, the amount of spam can get pretty bad pretty fast!
I've been using a couple email addys for a while now and it's really helped me to keep things more organized between the important biz stuff and not so important.
Same problem can arise with phone numbers too... good grief, lol.

I also get a lot of spam every day. Now i separate my email addresses for different purposes. Previously, i thought it is better to use a email addresses for everything. Then i realised that they are a lot of spam in my mailbox every day that i need to clean up.

lol - yes, I do that all the time when I want to sneak into someones website to see what it is all about - I just use what I call my test email and then every so often I go in and empty it out...

getagrip: You can get a free Yahoo or Hotmail account, which are well worth having to avoid getting SPAM in your regular email account, and even if you don't get any SPAM, its nice to be able to seperate your business and personal email addresses. That's very practical advice.
Occasionally you will come across a site that "forbids" the use of free email addresses and may even single out an ISP like Yahoo or Hotmail. That's because they know people use these "throw-away" email addresses as a way to combat spam.
In some cases that's only intimidation. But in other cases, they will actually configure their scripts to reject any @yahoo or @hotmail addresses.
Spam is a real pain in the you-know-where, and even the most secure scripts can eventually be breached. That's why, as a marketer, you should constantly be searching for improved and alternative methods to build your lists.
It's a game of wits really.

Not a personal recommendation there since I have a system that works just fine for me, but I know someone who's used either of those (I forget which in particular, just remember talking about the two on this topic) and loves how it simplifies his email life.
