Hi All

Quite new to the forum & still not very comfortable with Clickbank's info !!
I've set up an affiliate account & my partner (who is more computer literate than myself) are still struggling to make sense of all the info supplied on their website (very conflicting) !!
In particular - setting up tracking id (tid=?????) & connecting it to my website (one only), In order to categorise products for the future !!
I would very much appreciate anyone's help in this matter, for my future piece of mind.

Cheers

Mark

Tracking ID is for you to do tracking when you are advertising your link to multiple channels. A tracking id is for one advertising method.

As for your website, you can choose to advertise 1 or more clickbank products. You can categorize them and promote them at the same time.

Hey Shmeeko69

If you're using the freewebsitesystem thing then you can't use affiliate tracking id unless you upgrade to the pro plan.

I think it costs $140 a year but allows 5 ready-built websites so works out at a decent web hosting rate. I've explained the pro plan a few times before so I'll stop there! Though I will add that with the pro plan you have 60 days to get your money back if it's not working for you.

Alternatively, you can set up a blog or your own website for free. You would have to build up content etc. yourself but you would have the freedom to apply tracking ids as well as the likes of google analytics to see how many visitors you get and how they're finding your site.

I promote quitea few clickbank products thru blogs and Squidoo lenses and I just log in to Clickbank, find the products I want to promote, click the 'create hoplink' thingie and insert it into my blogs...

It can be a bit overwhelming at first but it is really quite simple nce you get your brain wrapped around it all...

It will show you, but here is something you should always do... once you have the clickbank link on your site, test it.

Here is a quick way to test your link - click on your own link and then click the order now link till it takes you to the checkout or clickbank page and scroll all the way down to the bottom to where it says affiliate = ...... and make sure YOUR id is there.

If your id is there - you are safe... plus in your cb back office, it will actually track your hits for you so that you can see what links are getting clicked on... use the reporting and analytics tab in your back office to see what is happening with your links...

Clickbank products are very simply and easy to promote~

You can get Hoplinks and just copy and paste to either your website,

or blog!!

It is easy, if you are capable with basic computer skill!!

Good luck to your business~

happy day~^^

Hi, I'm not doing any tracking, but use the hoplinks quite a bit in my website. Since a couple of weeks hoplinks are encripted. Clickbank must have learned a lesson as many people complained about their userID being stolen. With the encription you cannot recognize neither the product nor the user ID anymore.Roseanne

Roseanne is correct. Clickbank hoplinks are now encrypted. But, as mountainmom5 pointed out with the above statement, you can still go to the bottom of your checkout page and YOUR id will still appear.

I am glad they are encrypted now. I like putting in a code for myself on the tracking ID to help keep track of where I used the link too. One more way to try and stay organized.
