Hello everyone
Is it better to use paid hosting for a blog? Is it easier to generate traffic with paid hosting?
With as cheap as Web hosting is would be better to just open up some sort of web site? Because there doesn't seem to be blog hosting anymore.
Thank you everyone

If you are serious of building your online business, it would be advisable to sign up for paid hosting especially those that you can host unlimited domains.

Hi Hotwheelz,
Hotwheelz: Is it better to use paid hosting for a blog? Once you know what you are doing, yes - but not before.
Hotwheelz: Is it easier to generate traffic with paid hosting? Generate traffic to paid hosting? No. Make more sales? Yes, if you do a good job.
Hotwheelz: With as cheap as Web hosting is would be better to just open up some sort of web site ? Again - yes, but only once you really know what you are doing.
Hotwheelz: Because there doesn't seem to be blog hosting anymore. *scratches head in confusion*
Please clarify.

Okay. Call me crazy, but I'm not sure I get the whole blogging thing. I started my first blog at word press about 2 months ago. I'm still not sure how to make any money yet. Any suggestions.

NS, you are always first buddy
If you are a newbie I would suggest using free hosting for a while unless you get the taste of website administration. Then while you scale up with website administration you could very well go for real hosting...

Paid vs. free blog hosting shouldn't really make all that difference in generating traffc. Having good content, a simple layout and a bit of marketing behind you should.
There are plenty of blogs out there which simply use Google's Blogger service and enjoy tonnes of regular readers and people who leave comments.
You can get a quick, easy blog set up using blogger or Wordpress or something similar.
You can stil register a domain name and have it point to your blog.
Blogger is great if you just want something simple and aren't that familiar with XHTML, PHP and all that nonesense, Word Press is often prefered by those wanting a more professional, business-type look.
Personally I use Blogger. I set it up two years ago and have never had any problems with it. It's even sent some clients my way after finding random posts of mine.

Yes, I agree. Getting taffics are not depend on what hosting
method you are using. It is all up to your contents
You can promote your either blog or
website by using google adsense, and google adwords.
* Better thing for website is you can have your domain name which
is great way to let people recognize you for future referenses.
* Blogging advantage would be you can add as many as ads you
want as long as it is spacing. And you can set it up fast Free.
To be a great affiliate marketer, use both, and keep updating on
your blog and website. Your money stream will be double.
Thank you
Happy day~^^

Hi there,
With the wealth of free blogging services out there it doesn't make sense to pay for one when you are first starting out. Blogger and Wordpress are great free blogging services. Once you get more established and you are making some money you can buy your own domain, say www.yourdomain.com and then you can still keep your free blog service and redirect it to your domain name you purchased.
Hang in there you'll be fine.

Remember with free hosting - blogger.com etc. your blog can be shut down at any time. If you pay for hosting that can never happen.

Can be, but probably won't. Really the only reason you'd have your blog shut down would be if you were doing something illegal or violating the T.O.S.
That said, the same thing applies to paid hosting. If you violate the T.O.S, you're liable to be shut down.
What's more, I've seen a number of websites dissapear (albeit usually temporarily) because the hosting company went out of bussiness.
Really, you're no more likely to lose a blog using Blogger (which has the whole weight of Google behind it) than you are if you pay for hosting.
