I am told by a few gurus that along with good products its simple the more eyeballs rolling over your ad/message the more sales you will make true or false?

It can be both true and false. In some cases, you will want to include very detailed information, such as when you are doing product reviews. In other cases, it is necessary to keep it simple - for example - notice how uncomplicated the eBay marketplace is - only when you look at a specific item do you get more detailed information. So, it can help to be both simple and complex, depending on which page of your website the customer lands on.

Naturally yes. If you had a store on main street, the more people you have walking past your display the more sales you will make - HOWEVER, the more attractive your DISPLAY is the more people will walk IN.

This is VERY true.

The more people see your offer on a consistent basis, the more sales you will make.

Also it is very important to know that many of your sales will not come from people visiting your offer for the first time. Most of your sales will come from people who buy what ever you are selling days and even weeks later from the first time they saw your offer.

So your goal is to keep new visitors come in on a daily basis without stopping.

It's a game of the number of targeted people you can get in front of what you are offering.

Non-targeted marketing makes the numbers much bigger than what they should be for success when you have the right targeted prospects peaking at your website.

Yes, as more people see or hear about your product, your sales are likely to increase

As all the previous responses indicated, that's generally true.

But there's a caveat!

If you are dealing simply in the number of curious eyeballs reading your offer, you will increase sales based solely on the law of averages. But the rate of conversion you can expect from that is unreliable and unpredictable at best.

However, if the eyeballs reading your message are really interested in what you are offering, the percentage of sales will be significantly higher.

Example:

Say 1,000 people with no particular interest in your offer read your message and you gained 10 sales, or a 1% conversion rate. And then 1,000 targeted people who are specifically looking for what you are offering read the same message, you could gain 80 sales or an 8% conversion rate.

So, it's important to seek out the eyeballs that would be primarily interested in what you have to say or sell. That will consistently yield the most sales.

By precisely targeting the right demographic for your message, you guarantee a better response rate from the outset. And as you expose the message to more and more targeted people, the law of averages will also be playing its part to boost your sales.

You could consider the sales from your targeted readers to be your meat and potatoes, while those that occur from the natural law of averages, your gravy.

I agree with A8ch

Sure its about numbers, but not ALL traffic is the same.

Targetted hungry customers are gold dust and will lead to much higher conversions.

1000 eyeballs from a traffic exchange are worth less than 1000 from Twitter in turn less than 1000 from articles and less than 1000 from PPC

Many people think that just because they have a website they have a business. It takes time and a little bit of skill...
