Some people know what pyramid schems are, and others don't. If there is any doubt, here is some information from the Federal Trade Commission website about what constitutes a pyramid scheme:

I'd encourage you to do some research before getting involved with any kind of "opportunity", especially if it requires you to make a payment to get started.
