You mentioned your husband is a writer, then I would suggest (as others have mentioned) Article Marketing. I think you could do really well with that!

Irishboys, I had the priviledge of not making too many mistakes when chosing an online training course for beginners. I commmitted to MOIS, and One Week Marketing to learn the trade, and I'm constantly learning. You will find these also in my signature, so I'm not unbiased. I loved the two affiliate training programs because they made me understand how everything is tied together. I can also recommend 30daychallenge, however I must admit that step-by-step guidance was very important to me as I was absolutely clueless about AM.
Profit Lance is also a great program as you get a membership with free websites, and hosting for a very reasonable price.
In the end, you need to figure out what works for you.

LoveAffiliate's strategy is exactly what I use. I would follow this advice to the letter.
1. Advertise a pertinent product to a 2. Hungry audience 3. Repeat again in a new niche
That's the key to making this work and it's what I've done for years now!
Todd

Hi there
I am new to internet marketing too (new to the whole internet thing period). I finally settled on the My Income Online System and I have to tell you it has helped me tremendously. In the begining I felt very overwhelmed by it all and the step by step program has definately given me the courage to go on.
Its hard work starting up and going through the learning curve but I am thoroughly enjoying it and I am sure you will too.
I must admit though that everyday i do a little more research on the internet and am slowly but surely gaining more understanding of it all. Now I just have to learn how to write !
Best of luck with your new adventure.

Quite often it is not so much WHICH program we choose as just getting started with it already...
You will never quit learning....
edited to add: ZiggyZoo - what are you waiting for? You are a great writer.

Awwww Mountainmom5 - thanks so much!!
Writing the first article is ok but heck trying to find unique content for the same topic to put onto other sites is what I am battling with. I mean how much can one say about the same thing over and over again.
I think i need to find a better way then with article posting, yes

Don't waste your money on products people try to sell you. There is more than enough information out there to get you started and to make you money.
Look, if I'm making $10,000 per day with my "proven money system" or something, why the hell am I going to sell that system to you for $45? That sale would cost me $5,000!
Here's the easiest rule to follow for affiliate marketing: If someone wants to sell you something for less than they're making from it, it's a scam. It's that simple. Nobody in this industry gives up information that can seriously damage their business and nobody is going to tell you how you can make millions. What people will tell you is how to get started. The rest is up to you.
Bfoster00 - Good AMs don't make millions overnight. You need money to make money, especially in this business. Think of the affiliate marketing like poker. When you have a small stack you can get muscled out of hands by wealthier, more experienced players. When you do make money, it's relatively little because you don't have much money to spend. That's how affiliate marketing works. You're only going to make money in the business if you're smart, aggressive, committed, and able to adapt to changing circumstances.

tireswing: You need money to make money, especially in this business. yes and no
I started with no money , oh wait, I paid like thirty something for the OWM, but when I started making money, I re-invested some of it into getting my SBI site.... So I think it all depends.
If you have hundreds or thousands to blow while you learn the ins and outs of ppc and AM stuff, then go for it, but most people don't have much to play with...
tireswing: You're only going to make money in the business if you're smart, aggressive, committed... I may be aggressive and committed but I sure as heck am not that smart....

I have been doing affiliate marketing for a while now but it is definately not something you can jump right into and start making the claimed $10,000 a day that you see on some sites. There are some days I lose money but then again there are some days that I do profit quite a bit. It definately is enjoyable but it takes a lot of time and effort. The thing I had to learn was to stop reading forums, etc... after a certain point and just start doing it. I was waiting around and looking for someone to hand me a way to make a lot of money with little effort; when I realized this would not happen and began actually putting forth some effort I began to see some benefits.
