I think I may know what the problem may be...

If you want to auto install WP on a top level domain, you leave the directory blank.

If you want to auto install WP in a different directory, DON'T create the directory first. Instead, just fill in the field with whatever name you want to name the directory. So if you want to name the directory blog, fill in "blog" in the field where it says "install in directory". If you want to name it something else, then put something else in that field - just DON'T CREATE THE DIRECTORY BECAUSE FANTASTICO WILL CREATE IT FOR YOU...at least that is what happens when I do it.

If that doesn't work, you can install WP directly using the instructions below:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Detailed_Instructions

When I did this my first time, I wanted to pull my hair out and I'm still not that comfortable with it, but it isn't really that hard.

If you do the installation for an add-on domain, AND you don't yet have content yet for that domain, what you can do is just delete that folder, and then re-add it through your file manager (create folder), just make sure to name it the exact same thing as your original folder for that domain - I usually just copy the old folder name before I delete it, and paste it into the field when I create the new folder.

Before you do that, you might want to remove Wordpress through Fantastico Deluxe. At that point, you can always try re-autoinstalling it, but sometimes, if there is an existing installation, it won't let you re-auto install it, but you can always give it a try - and if that doesn't work, just manually install Wordpress using the instructions above.

Thanks so much all of you - it IS a bit overwhelming, and my head is swimming ... I WILL master it, but am thinking it may take me a bit longer than I thought it would, so in the meantime, I will learn as much as I can as I keep writing articles, Squidding and blogging...

...plus my daughter wants to read to me tonight ... and I am thinking that listening to a story will be much less stressful so , once again, I will take the easy path tonight. lol

I think that will work =].

I'm pretty sure that is how you get around it.

Thanks Getagrip!.
