Anybody have any insider tips on doing pay per clicks, or is it just a trial and error experience everyone must go through?

It can be a bit trial and error, but you should definitely do some research. If you have succeeded with PPC before, then give it a try again and experiment a little. But if you haven't done PPC before and don't know much about it, then I would avoid it for now. If you're not careful you could actually LOSE money. Trust me, I know this the hard way.

I would not just jump into it if you have no knowledge of PPC. One of the key things is to use specific keywords, not general ones. For instance....home based business, you'd want to actually target a specific business, etc. You also want to keep the content network turned OFF. PPC is great for getting targeted traffic. Really, you need to read up on it thoroughly before starting any PPC.

Perhaps you would want to read Perry Marshall's course first before starting out your trial & error that will be costly. He's got a free 5 days course that you can go through first.

If not, there is an ebook called adwords made easy. That book is very helpful as well if you're first time trying it out.

Lastly, facebook is giving away some promotion recently, they have a similar pay-per-click program. I've received promotion details which gave me $50 credits to try out their ppc program.

What exactly is Pay Per Click? I never really got the details of what the point is behind it and what the concept is about. Thanks!

PPC is a very delicate issue and you should only go into it if you are already making a steady income from other avenues.

PPC's primary use is to add to the already high ammount of traffick you are already getting.

PPC can be very expensive, so unless you are already making a steady income from sales, dont do it.

Once you are healthy enough to start a PPc, you will get instant results and its a very easy system to implement.

Hi Kpm2319: Read up on Adwords here:

http://adwords.google.com/select/Login
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdWords

Tips = set a daily limit on clicks (or your clicks will get used up too quickly) and max spending (or you will get a hefty bill from Google or whatever PPC network you are using) when ever possible.

Jpolito830: You might find the above links helpful.
