Anyone know how to find some sort of transcription or telecommuting job? I don't have any relevant experience to put on a resume, but I type around 70 wpm and wouldn't mind a job on top of my business.

Typically, for transcription, they require relevant experience or school certificate. You could try Quicktate for experience. You definately won't make a large amount of money, but again it would be for experience sake Google it or PM me for link.

Do you get a lot of phone calls with Quicktate? And if so, do I have to be near a computer to fulfill the requests? I work full time so it may be difficult if there is a timing issue.
And how long do you think I would need to hang with Quicktate to acquire desirable experience for a professional company?

It depends on what time you login. Typically there are more calls in the day than in the evening or night. You have to be on computer to do it. You can work anytime.
They have a service called iDictate where they hire experienced transcribers and if you have a good record with quicktate they may offer you a job with iDictate.

Sgkul hit the nail on the head so to speak with Quicktate. iDictate will pay more than Quicktate if you get accepted.
As for the time for desired experience, it honestly depends on the company that's hiring. Most want at least 2 years of prior experience in the transcription field.

i read into it a little more and i guess Quicktate pays 1/4 cent per word and iDictate pays 1/2 cent per word lol
sounds a lot like paid surveys to me hahah i'll see how it works out though.
I'm actually kind of glad that you have to have some real experience to get anywhere with transcription, because perhaps this means there is real money involved if you take the right steps

Yes, there is a definate need for transcribers. I used to do it years ago at the doctor's office I worked. Wish I would have stayed with it since I could be doing it now from home Oh well! Sometimes our road just takes us different places..lol!
