Stumbleupon has given me the most success but still could be better. Any bookmarking tips?

I bookmark to several per post. I can get the post on page one on Google in 24-48 hours with Netscape or Digg. Sometimes PlugIm will do it for me as well.

I always use OnlyWire.com to quickly bookmark to over 15 directories with one click.

Bookmarking is basically a way that allows you to generate backlinks very quickly by putting a link back to your site from a social bookmarking site, often in the form of a news story...check out digg.com and you will see what I mean.

You may not get actual traffic from the bookmarking site itself, but it can help your ranking in the search engines.

This is actualyl what is happening for me. My post in Nescape or Digg might show up on page one in 24-48 hours and then a couple of weeks later the same post I bookmarked to Google bookmarks might show up and settle into the top 10.

One of the keys to this is choosing long tail keywords with a low numer of searches per month.

I still don't get it. My site is showing up on Google but its not from any bookmarks... Explain how when you post it, Google picks your post up and not mine lol....
